Need a nightcap?

This is St Kilda beach, minutes from downtown Melbourne, Australia. One of the many kite spots around Port Philip Bay. In their summer (Dec-Feb), a nice breeze comes up off the bay most afternoons (4-7pm - that's 9pm-midnight Island time) I live and work here 6 months (Nov-May) of the year.

The yatch club has a few webcams out front:

The 1st view is the 'kiddie pool' is the flat water playground for the more advanced, skilled kiters. 35kts the other day had some serious players jumping around in there. The foilers play in there too when its almost windless.

The 2nd webcam looks past the breakwater and boats to where many, including myself, get to play. Mostly rollers, swell, chop and mushy shore breaking waves. There are 3 kite schools teaching at 'kite beach.' (see link below) 2km of beach shoreline then stretch to the cruise terminals of Port Melbourne. So much to offer just at this one spot.

The 3rd view is only if, in low winds, a foiler may sail past.

Anyway, most nights, 9pm-midnight Island time, there will be kiters playing in the kiddie pool to help lull you off to a dream-filled sleep.

That was fun! Came home at 11:30 last night and watch the cating for a little bit. The temperature isn't crazy hot in Melbourne seems like a great place to live.
