-it was fully ruptured. So what might be a typical recovery time-line for that? Can I do anything to avoid a contracture until the rehab starts (6 wks in the cast) or is just one of those things to work through once the cast is off? And lastly, thanks for the tip on treating the good side with some ...

Any experience out there with a ruptured achilles tendon?

Well if Murphy's law can be relied on, the wind should be on the way. I ruptured my Achilles Sunday night and unfortunately the cast is too big for a footstrap  -not to mention that the doc would not be impressed if I got the cast wet (even though it is fibreglass). Anyone out there with experi...

I gotta go with Kus on this one. Once the stoke sets in, it's hard to be patient and gentle when wielding long objects down stairs, through gates, between fences, across parking lots (right David?), or loading up. I've been lucky for the most and rigging in the front lawn helps but you gotta keep th...

Good tip AC. You could have too much wind or you could have too little. They definitely will not be too busy to fit you in with the amount of travel going on right now.

I think there are two outfits on Lake Arenal. The one that I went to for windsurfing also did kiting and offerred kite lessons. They had pretty solid windsurfing rental gear. The place was called Tico Wind http://www.ticowind.com/ . Look for the government warning sign about the "Crocodiles in ...

To follow the thread on a little more. How about NPX suits?

I was looking at the NPX Assasin suits for use windsurfing. How well do they stack up to the Neil Pryde and Excel suits? They seem like a fairly full featured suit just marketed to the kitesurfers. Any info/first hand experience on the following would be appreciated: Workmanship? Materials? Accuracy...

Dakine cold weather mitts.

They won't last as long as your other neoprene gear but they do the trick. No cramping etc and toasty warm.

China creek campground was once upon a time quite a popular spot to sail from. Alot of the waterfront sites are monthly sites now but it might be worth a call.
