Re: new leash: Anchorman 9 wing anchor invention with swivel

Just about hit the "buy now button". I've been watching videos of this tool and would love to try.

Wing Rescue

It had been requested that I post up a how-to for rescuing runaway wings. I've successfully done it at least once so I guess it makes me an internet expert on the topic  . Please feel free to add any methods or insights to this thread. The following is what seemed to work for me the other day i...

Re: Wing vs regular windsurfing sail

IMHO replacing a windsurfing sail with a wing makes for a "like windsurfing but much worse" experience. A wing really needs the speed of an engaged foil to come alive, otherwise it feels like a big, inefficient pool toy. Slogging on a foil board is terrible for this reason. Slogging on a w...

Re: Windsurf foil using Lift foil?

Might as well try! You'll likely want the foil max forward on the Wizard to get enough lift as the Lift system is pretty back footed. May need a longer fuse if you can't get it flying. Let us know if it works!

Re: Foiling Flat Tires

I have a feeling it is possibly the foil section on the Axis alu mast causing ventilation. Not that it's a big problem or a bad mast (it feels nice and stiff), but I felt the same thing riding Tweezer's alu Axis/999 pushing hard upwind. I'm pretty sure he's experienced it a fair bit too. I think it ...

Re: Flagged out riding revelation

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6ptNQUyQcE Like this. At 1:03 you see him pumping downwind with the wing in the trailing position clearly. He keeps the wing out of the way and it opens up his visibility and carving ability so much more. The wind is light enough that he'd run the wing over if it was ...

Down by your hip. You grip the front handle as usual, but the wing is behind you flying on apparent wind.

Flagged out riding revelation

I'm sure others here have discovered this technique but thought I'd try to describe it after having a bit of a revelation riding the wing flagged out a while back in light air in swell. Usually I'd ride with the wing downwind of my body, passing the wing from hand to hand as I'd change direction run...

Have you tried Quickwater Canada in Richmond/Vancouver? Ask for Paul.

Re: Mid Aspect foils

Yeah, the 1225 has really surprised me how versatile it is without feeling like it's compromising too much in any area. I SUPd it last weekend in my Armstrong board with far forward tracks and absolutely loved it in the 2-6' surf I was in. I'd love to see KT move their tracks even just a few inches ...

Re: Mid Aspect foils

I ordered the MA1225 for small-medium wave SUP foiling and light air winging, though I rode it today in 35 knots very comfortably. I've ridden it twice but echo Dave's statements. For a "big" foil, it's insanely fun and easy to ride. Speed is a little lower possibly than the equivalent HA....
