Ride to Windfest
Hey ya'll....I had such an outstanding time this last week at the Nitinaht that I would like to come back for windfest in a couple of weeks! Is anyone going up Friday morning and back to Vic Sunday night? Could cover gas costs if you've got room for my big kite bag, a backpack and a bag of groceries...

hey there, i was up there for a fall, winter, spring and summer. there was one session i scored on the east side of the island....it's a tough go up there. not much wind at all. hopefully you can make it to port or nitinaht. you're also closer to Nimpkish than most of us, which is a plus. Happy sail...

tough
our system in canada for collecting points is the best in the world. aeroplan does have limits on the redemption though. i do a lot of travelling and always seem to spend the points though. back and forth to ontario is a great way to spend them 25 000 points gets you a return ticket that can be 700-...

Crock of S*%T
It's not even possible... I started kiting at 286 pounds. I had neglible muscle mass. I was a size 48 waist. I'm now a 33 waist, and am 13% body fat-in the top 90% of the population. I've never had a single injury. The ONLY flipping thing that has ever hurt has been the muscle that runs down the ins...

Hi KUS,
Thanks so much for the update. It's good to know that positive changes are in the wind...
When I say positive I mean water and hydro...squatting I'm well into...as are long stays at the Nat...
Great detailed report.

THe best I ever saw was Sky Solbach do it at Hookipa. I asked him if he wanted a launch, and he laughed at me. That kite went up smooth as butter. He's an expert and probably nets 200++ days on the water per year if not 300. I'm sure he's done it a million times. I tried it once, and although I was ...

thanks!
For sure!!! Thanks a lot guys for the great advice. I would way rather hang on to the cash and not lug a kite around that probably weighs about as much as my three smallest kites....much appreciated....hoping for big december winds!!! if not sun, water and chilling...not bad!!! Cheers.

13m 2013 North EVO
Contemplating a 13m 2013 North Evo mostly cause i'm going to Hawaii for 25 days in December and realise the winds can be light...wondering if anyone has flown this kite and could compare it to say a 10m North Rebel...trying to decide if i'm going to buy it.

I ate two f'ing bananas today. I can tell you I also ate a spoonful of tuna today and now I'm worried. Not 1/10 000th as much as I'm worried about a west coast evac if things really hit the fan over there ... dropping fuel rods. Get a grip! Surely we can come up with a face mask of some sort that wo...

Kite speed event
Hey all,
I want to try and get a speed event going up at Comox sometime this winter.
Any idea how we would go about doing that in terms of getting permits? Would we need to?
Any idea about how to measure speed from the land.
Kevin

YIKES! Every time I came into the beach downwind of the giant stump to show off my moves to my new gf and her kid, there were a bunch of guys with boards and sails attached somehow try to get on the water. I really must say that as I love coming into 2.5 inches of water to showboat, it would be bett...
