Is anyone going up Friday morning and back to Vic Sunday night? Could cover gas costs if you've got room for my big kite bag, a backpack and a bag of groceries...

hey there, i was up there for a fall, winter, spring and summer. there was one session i scored on the east side of the island....it's a tough go up there. not much wind at all. hopefully you can make it to port or nitinaht. you're also closer to Nimpkish than most of us, which is a plus. It's not even possible... I started kiting at 286 pounds. I had neglible muscle mass. I was a size 48 waist. I'm now a 33 waist, and am 13% body fat-in the top 90% of the population. Contemplating a 13m 2013 North Evo mostly cause i'm going to Hawaii for 25 days in December and realise the winds can be light...wondering if anyone has flown this kite and could compare it to say a 10m North Rebel...trying to decide if i'm going to buy it.

I want to try and get a speed event going up at Comox sometime this winter.

Any idea how we would go about doing that in terms of getting permits? Would we need to?

Any idea about how to measure speed from the land.
