Maybe the double at the front softens touchdowns on wave faces which is the only time you'll ever touch a board down parallel to the water surface at high speed. Even though I think they're a placebo, I still want them for some reason. That's the theory I've seen from a few shapers, that concave on...

Hi Jim! Joining the fray! You're going to love it. Your 175lb = 80kg, so great all-round board should be your weight(kg) + 10 - 40 lt = 90 to 120 lt for you depending on your abilities and willingness to be challenged. The bigger volume will tend to be wider (27-30"), thicker and a bit longer (...

Never even notice the reel leash is there. Set and forget. It's the best and totally worth it. I now also put the wing/wrist leash around the front of the waist belt, so much better having free hands.

...Only negative...when you're way outside the bay, the downwind catchment is really REALLY bad if something goes wrong. Best case would be downwind to the east sooke coastline. Worst case would be getting caught in outgoing current, missing Possession Point and ending up along east sooke park coas...

Have just been reading that 2 more of the major wing makers Ozone and Ensis are coming out with windows in their next versions. Despite what contrarians are saying about extra weight, lack of shaping etc, seems like the realization of safety in crowded conditions and the ability to look without rai...

windows...I tend to agree. I have only used wings with windows a few times, I found the windows are often not where I need them anyway, limited help. But they do help a little. I am used to winging without many other riders around. When there's lots, and especially when there's kites and windsurfer...

Re: Use of teflon tape for foil screws

Hey so what are folks views about using plumbing teflon tape for foil screws? I saw the MAC Kite dude using them in one vid. Help to prevent/minimize corrosion/binding or not? Sure it probably helps too especially if threads are a bit loose. Never had any issues using TefGel so far, it's been prove...

Derigging: 1) do people remove the mast from the board with everything assembled (ie. wing, mast, fuselage, tail wing)? 2) do people fully disassemble their foil regularly? 3) use a board bag if they are removing the foil? Most everyone removes the foil from the board, puts board in a bag. Leaves t...

From pg1. "I've used a waist reel leash for the board since day one and highly recommend to all" I've also recently started attaching my wing leash to the waist strap. Blue Planet has a complete system, the others you maybe need to jimmy with a bit https://www.blueplanetsurf.com/retractabl...

It is a cold windy inhospitable place for 97% of the year. No one lounges around there for any amount of time because it's friggin cold, that's why they're all sitting in their cars! If you want that experience go take a walk on the Ogden Pt Breakwater. Guess what is already there too, food trucks, ...
