Hello All,

Those of you that cannot make it to the race registration may not receive a jersey, which would make it impossible to score you.

you must understand the racing rules as posted in the sailing instructions (will be up on the website today) . And you must come see greg and I on the beach if some exceptional circumstance prevents you from coming to the registration meeting.

We really really insist on making it to the meeting if you can.

Not knowing the rules can ruin the race if you cause a giant tangle. So know the rules!

The registration night will explain all the rules in plain english so no confusion.

entered and looking forward to it. I am assuming that this is kind of like roller derby and the object is to take out as many others as possible? ;)

race meeting on Tuesday

Post by slats »

From a few people I have spoken to, having the race meeting on Tuesday has not enabled a few people to enter. No way around this for people who would only be able to arrive on race day?

Get your entry forms in on time - if you can't make Tuesday (Like you live in Vancouver) we'll do something on the beach before the race (like an hour or 2 before as theres lotsa other stuff to do) I'll make a video of the Tuesday meeting and edit it down.

Race is a GO for Thursday

Post by skywalker »

RACE IS A GO!!! FOR THURSDAY! :D

Be at the beach by 4:30 if you have not registered. Late entries are allowed!

You will need to fill out a registration form, and get a number.

It is your responsibility to duct tape your number to your wetsuit.

I suggest wearing a colored shirt as well to help identify.

:!: :!: READ THE SAILING INTRUCTIONS posted on the RVYC (Snarfer has link above) :!:

Lastly, please do your best to remember your finishing place

The best thing for your number is a bright old large t-shirt with the bottom half cut off. Pin your number to the front of the t-shirt and wear it. We will be taking pictures at the finishes so between the t-shirt colour and the kite etc even if we miss the number we should be able to identify you.

I'll be set up for the race at 3:30 at the bottom of Kook. I have additional entry forms, race instructions and notices for more people. If you're on the fence, just go for it, you'll have fun and heck, it looks like it might be windy this aft so you're going to be down there anyways, right? - Did I mention it was free?
