I just started saving for Maui 2016. What is April like for sailing? I've only gone in Oct before.

For wind and surf, April is usually fantastic, unless I've booked a trip. Then April is a skunk fest. You may want to check to see when/if I've bought tickets and book the time before or after my visit.

It's a lot like October in April. There are palm trees, tourists and sharks.

Actually my most successful trip for wind was an April.

I've only been twice but both times were at the beginning of April and the wind and waves have been good.

Randy Kashino has been going to Maui every April since 1999. Think he must have found that time of year it worth the trip.

Forecast looks pretty windy so far, small swell though so this could mean a lot of Ho'okipa/Lanes days and not a lot of Kanaha or crowd-dud-harbour which is fine by me!

have you seen the Euro scourge at H when it's small? All the world wants to claim they have sailed there so the flock is on, it's a snaking, bobbing pylon nightmare :? Kanaha may then be the better bet :idea: Good winds, envious :P

I'm bummed you won't be there this year. It was sweet having someone to shred gnar and Vietnamese sandwiches with every day, but I'm sure you are having just as much fun working 8)

how fast can you swim? But guaranteed if you see one, your waterstarts will happen faster then you ever imagined possible, that's how I nailed clew first. lol

Nanmoo, you don't have to worry that much, the map shows that some individuals like 13363 don't spend ALL of their time patrolling the breaks on the sailing venues on the north shore - occasionally she goes north to deep water, or the other side of Maui. Not often, but sometimes. I'm sure you'll be there during those times :wink:
