Friday and Saturday look ok, Sunday is going to be the toss up. Well worth it if you score 3 days I'd say. If you hang around until next Thursday you might score a strong Port Tack sailing Day. Dana says he does Crescent City on Winter SE's....

$50 rooms at the Beachcomber if it's cold and you guys feel like Cuddling...

Good luck!

Winddoc, great to read your session logs, so glad you scored. :D Choked I can't make it down this year, work lined up at the wrong time. :(

Nanmoo: O Coast turns back on Sunday it looks like, just in time for some swell. - Monday June 23, 10:09PM

:D 8)
I am aiming for early Friday (June 27) departure (pit-stop in the Gorge) and a Sunday (June 29) arrival (and sail with a little luck). Hope to see some of the BWD crew down on the Oregon Coast! :D

Looks like Nanmoo is onto something ... the 9-panel oracle is calling for Pistol wind every day starting as early as Sat. Unfortunately, I can't make it this year - teacher's strike forced my vacation hand, and hips likely too creaky anyhow.

Thought I'd share how to interpret the oracle, in case you haven't seen it before. You want to see vertical pressure gradients over the Calif-OR border = great wind for Pistol. That's what the forecast calls for :D Beware though ... it has the tendency to change as soon as you've made plans.

Hope you guys score some great days
:!:

Thanks for the guide Mike! The trip will not be the same without you dude, but that goes without saying.

C36 - BWD and I are on the same schedule as you. Leaving on the 7:30pm Coho on Thursday. I'm stopping in to HR for Fri to pick up some new to me gear and then hopefully sail. Depending on the coast and gorge forecast I might stay and sail Saturday morning in the gorge then head for Gold Beach for Sunday morning. I'll be the guy in the sweet UHaul van....with the very subtle $19.95/day written on the side. : )

Working on bringing the wacked-man along for his introduction to the S coast. Also planing to leave Friday night-ish, stop over in the gorge for sure, head further S depending on weather forecasts.

Hey Morewind that no good :( You will be missed for sure.

It sounds like a good crew are heading down and the forecast is shaping up...woohoo.

And if anyone didn't pick up on this - TheLaw will be in Oregon with a big empty uhaul van so send him a PM if you need anything picked up: Ikea in Portland, gear in HR, etc. Just trying to help out.
