Sick! Now I can take my pole vaults without huge $ penalties. Tired of travelling with those things and paying big bucks!

Awesome, but awww too bad, kiters just lost one more excuse, "but traveling with kite gear is cheaper!"

Common winddoc, it was only $75 with alaska before!

nah... it was $75 plus some other fee plus tax plus tip for the scale guy etc.... ended up $100us...or sometimes return was free....don't plan on that one tho...still great news....now I just need to conquer flight anxiety a bit more

Surfers have always got the shaft from airlines, windsurfers too. It's great to see a more reasonable policy.

Kiters have had an interesting little game. Many airlines let golf clubs fly free, so if you can fit your kite gear in something looks like a golf bag, you can sneak it in for free too maybe.

Funny thing about the alaska announcement: golf clubs are listed in the "now for $25" list. So, looks like the golfers will pay a little more, in return for us paying a little less. Nice.
