Great day - wow amazing how Nitinat can be such a workout after sailing in Oregon for two weeks. Such stable wind and the ability to sail for six hours straight is always amazing to me.
:D Got my fist small board tack today on starboard after falling in 100 times. Probably be a couple years 'til I get the next one. It wasn't pretty but I got round and took off again :D
Jibes are pretty consistent now. Need other things to work on so tacking it is (and maybe jumping).

Slayed a couple trout in the morning and showed up at 2 for the good stuff. More 4.2. Nice to sail with Wdoc and Crofty. Doc and I working on spoks and shuvits and doc making things look easy. I may need an ice bath after all of my crashes. Worst was hooking in accidentaly mid vulcan and hurling backwards into the water. Thank you 6 mm neoprene suit. Dinner with my posse from yesteryear.

It started slow around 12pm then built to 4.0 gusts with some holes so it was a bit of a battle sometimes but the river swell was sweet and the session was still real good. Tomorrow looks even windier and more consistant.

Totally OP'd in the gusts, but also totally dialed all day and very lit up! Sailing super fast and confident today.....cause I've sailed 13 of the last 16 days. Most guys on 6.0M and 6.5M. I made some fast tacks near the beach. Jibes were 100%. Great day at Harrison! 3 - 4 kites and lots of windsurfers out.

SuperDave showed up with a bunch of new toys. Tried the 7.5 cult, 7 helix and the 9 helix. Loved them all! Ripped on the surfboard strapless for the first time and actually had a really good ride after getting the hang of it. Great day at the lake!

First day at the lake for me this summer and it was a beauty. Campsite was pretty empty surprisingly. Sailed 4.2 all day but not too many sailors around to share the swell and wind with. Baby bear on picnic table in back of the campground. Camped at the secret spot.

Had the afternoon to play. Waited until 12:30 for Gordon’s to come up. Got nervous and decided to bolt for Nitinat for a late afternoon session. Arrived to find perfect 7M conditions. Maybe 8-10 kites out. Must have just missed the morning shift. Spent most of the time on the new thruster. Very fast board. I love this board design/fin setup. Wasn't sure how everything would go, but it was suprisingly windy on the outside, more than enough to blast on the 7.0. Got a few good runs to trial island and back, until about the fifth run, when i turned around and could no longer see land due to the dense fog that has suddenly appeared. Headed back in the direction i felt was closest to home, and ended up not too badly. Thought i was being ambushed by a pirate ship when i saw Tweezers giant sail break through the fog line. Very interesting evening.

Did some house reno stuff in the am to please the wife and then headed out to Harrison as my truck was still packed from Nitinat....except I had to throw in the big board. Very little boat traffic (mid week) made it very flat and easy to plane in the lightish winds. Mellow 7.5 after 10 days at Nitinat. Easy jibing a big 142L after sailing smaller stuff for 2 weeks.

What the...
Where did that come from, wasn't forecast for mast+ (6-8' is logo, these were truely monsters). Winds were verrrry light in the pounder zone. We survived unscathed, although only a few rides, mostly getting worked on the way out. Short period meant more practice ducking the sail through the big waves rather than sailing it on them. Good day on the water. Not too busy at Doug's with good ramps and lots of room to play. Sailed up wind all the way to Rowena and then did a great down winder on big ramps back to Doug's. Some cold Coors on the beach and then back for a hot shower and happy hour Indian Creek golf club, great Ahi appy's and $2.00 draught beer specials.

Much better than yesterday. Super sunny and warm, but windy too. Packed up camp in the morning (my first day not being hung over!). Was 1st on the water around noon, wind like butter, making all jibes on the 5.8M, super mellow then it turned on and I got a couple of hours of 5.0M on the 86L. Great last day. Off the water at 3:15 pm and heading home, sunburnt, tired but happy. Was here 10 days and sailed all except 1!.

This bringing gear to work thing is paying off. Arrived to 5.0 conditions, started to rig 4.5, but was 4.0 by the time I finished. Went out on 77/4.o for a glorious 20 minutes, then the wind was too strong. 67/3.5 was managable, but soon I was tailwalking. Flattened sail and survival sailed until I was worn out. Took a break instead of rigging 3.1. After 45 minutes the wind subsided to perfect 3.5 conditions. Tried a couple backloops off the swell (both port and starboard) with poor results. Huge stoke day, but not for me. Both the lads were out on the Battleship Go and their 2.5 m2 sail, going out, 'beginner gybe', and returning to me where I was standing in the water. Gotta love not having to be a 'walk-of-shame-sherpa' for the lads. I then waited as it was showing some promise, finally lost all hope and rigged the beast. Went out and got planing when I think there was less than 5 whitecaps on the entire lake. Off the water at 3:00 PM when it was starting to pick up, and off home.
