I have a 1995 Pathfinder 4X4. My son had it for 2 years and the bumpers are dented but I had the brakes done and the front boot repaired recently. It needs some work on the clutch soon but I drove it to Nitinat last summer. Has a Thule rack. It's in Nanoose. A couple hundred and it is yours. Comes w...

A quad is the way to go.

Here's an idea. Ditch the sail. You could call it .... um .... snowboarding!

I doubt a life vest would have offered up much more than what it would have taken away in terms of mobility. Especially at the point where you ditched your rig and swam for it, the vest would have just slowed you down. I disagree Moo. I've worn this kind of vest: http://www.bigwinds.com/wind/catego...

KC. I looked at the video and listened to the rationale for these bindings and I think it is bunk. I understand that the underlying philosophy for the binding is that it simulates a skateboard truck. However, the binding flex is front to back and is unlike a skateboard truck which is primarily side ...

I just did a back of an envelope calculation and for a 20 kt wind (10.28 m/s) the force is only 5% less at 25 C relative to 10 C and 7% less at 30 C relative to 10 C.

I will get around to calculating the collision frequency for a 6 m^2 sail at some point.

Excuse, me but I heard more than one interaction, of the sort. What is your point? My point is, I was there. I know the windsurfer who was yelling "Get out of here!". Fifteen minutes earlier he had been knocked off his board when a kite went out of control during a jump. See the thread. H...

The Raven wrote:I actually was referring to the wind surfers that were yelling because they didn't want kiters on that side of the lake, period
And you spoke to the badly momma dressed windsurfer to confirm that they yell because they don't want kiters on some particular side of the lake?

Re: Please remember the lake belongs to everyone...

Quoth The Raven: :) :) I was witness to more than one wind surfer yelling at a kiter for kiting "in the wind surfers end of the lake." There is no wind surfers end of the lake! . The Raven. There is a context. On at least one occasion, the person yelling was the guy who was hit by the jump...

Re: odd

because Nitinaht and Nimpkish show nothing for the rest of hte week.... If you are looking on WindGuru for Nitinat or Nimpkish forecasts you should be aware that WindGuru uses grid output "... GFS data on windguru have about 50 km resolution .." (http://www.windguru.cz/int/help_index.php?...

I don't think that it should matter whether you are learning or not. Kite jumping in that area should be discouraged. It's where windsurfers learn and professional lawn mowers turn the mower around.

jumping near the boat ramp

On Thursday last week one of my windsurfing friends was hit by a kite just upwind of the (old) boat launch by the bulletin board. He had just jibed and was heading away from the beach when a kiter lost control of his kite after jumping and the lines took out his mast and knocked him off the board. T...

George. You didn't post what the board was but most people who have had one will know. My Starboard Wood Carve 121 developed the same problem (mushiness between the foot straps). It was fixed professionally (by Airtime) but a year or two later the deck got soft beside the right front foot strap, whe...
