Snowkiting?

Post by dangerdane »

With the weather turning colder my thoughts of snowboarding get stronger. I'm in the process of trying to find a safe open spot to kite. Has anyone on here tried snowkiting on the island? If so any suggestions on where would be a good spot? Also I would love to find a copy of this video.

First Dane... You need snow! I don't see a lot of it right now. Saskatchewan may be a good place!;)

AC thanks for your input! I guess I should have specified a somewhat "local" spot!

I'm sure there is a good place on the island to go and I'm on the hunt.

As for the lack of snow sharkdiver it will be here soon!

Hi Dane, so far the most local snowkiting spot would be Hurricane ridge:

Our neighbour from down south already been there twice now, last week end being the last one:
http://pugetsoundkiteboarding.com/viewt ... 105cfcb20c

The last page a guy post his gps route from snowkiting there.
They also have a nice map with snowkiting spot (red icon)

http://pskite.com/pskitebeachframe.php

Other research for snowkiting spots has been done in the past but no good safe place has been found yet. Having a skidoo would facilitate things out.

Here are some posting from island research:

I might do some more research if I have time this winter, but working for the Olympique from 25th Jan till 25 March :(
I might be looking for people to go down to Huricane Ridge on the 19th 20th Dec weekend.

Please share your research results!!!

P.S As for your video (Enthropy) i wanted to buy it in Quebec City 3 years ago but the guy told me to buy Something Stronger instead, it was made right after Enthropy buy the same people. Anyway, I will bring them tonight. Something Stronger and Dimension. If i see Enthropy in Quebec City this winter ill buy you a copy.

Must sled or skin in............49deg 45' 26 N 125deg 22' 23 W
It is the only viable place I am aware of.
Chase the day, not the dollar.
