A frontal system will continue eastward across the area
today, bringing gusty southerly winds to the majority of the area
waters. A Gale Warning remains in effect for the coastal waters with
frequent gusts to 40 kt. Winds across the interior waters will
remain breezy into the evening before easing. Thus, SCAs remain in
effect for the interior waters from the Puget Sound waters up to the
Canadian border. A push of westerly winds down the Strait of Juan de
Fuca will also yield small craft westerlies in the wake of the front
into Friday morning. Winds will then ease on Friday as high pressure
starts to build back over the northeastern Pacific.
High pressure will persist over the coastal waters through the
weekend. Guidance then hints at a trough extending northward along
the Washington coast by early Monday. Should this come to fruition,
this would allow for winds to briefly turn offshore on Monday.
Offshore winds will be short-lived, however, as high pressure over
the northeastern Pacific builds back over the coastal waters by
Monday evening. A frontal system may clip the waters early next
week as it moves inland to the north, but does not look to bring
much impact to the area at this time.
Seas over the coastal waters persisting at 4-6 ft morning will
build towards 9-11 ft today and remain at this range into Friday.
Seas will subside towards 4-6 ft again over the weekend and hover
between this range into early next week.

Hmm well Ballenas isn’t on the latest or the “not reporting” stations list anymore from what I can tell. The tides table is also not displaying fully since yesterday:(
I don't know where TWN are getting their data. From the EC land station page Ballenas is not listed and the direct link to the site shows N/A which normally means the site is not updating. Also Kus confirmed below that "the estimated time to get station back online is by end of April."
How long have the little popups with stats and links been on here? Day count since your last session, or a link to your windiest session ever (apparently Dec 23, 2010 for me, interesting read), most used bit of kit and other random things! Its a fun addition!
Downwinding as in either SUP paddling up onto foil, and going DW or using a Parawing to get up onto foil and going DW with chute packed away then redeploying and doing laps back UW. This is all focused around chasing bumps going DW, not mowing the lawn/freeriding.
“Thank you for sending your message to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
As per the latest update, the technician responsible for the Ballenas station is on leave. Trying to work on a solution to charge the station if coast guard unable to do so. The estimated time to get station back online is by end of April.

The Ballenas weather station has been defunct for almost four months and is key for nautical safety in our strait. Can someone please repair? I was told by DFO it belongs to coastguard. Coastguard tells me it's Environments.
