Arrived at Clover with Davey_K already rigged but the wind was pretty marginal. Rigged up and decided to wait a bit, when the wind hit 10 kts decided to launch and head out, pretty much had the water to myself for the whole session. The wind continued to build slowly throughout the session and at the end I was a bit overpowered. Great sunset session and was happy to see some progress in my foil turns and transitions.

On the water at 1:45pm and ripped for a solid hour caught a bit of kelp a few times and could t shake it loose so had to stop, go in reverse and then take off again. Quick morning session on rising tide. Classic sandbar start. Weeds in close, but fine further out. Managed to hold my own until it dropped off near shore. Pumped the kite back to shore during the lull and just managed to land it before it started to pick up again.

Launched from Pipers Lagoon at 2:50 after visiting with morning session foiling sailors incl Kerry & Bro and a Hand kiter who was towing a J24 back to Shuswap. Opted for the longboard with a dieing wind forecast and marginal planing conditions. But the 120 liter and 8m setup likely would of worked in and around the compression areas of Pipers Point or N of fish huts near Neck Point.

Hammond bay winds are slightly steadier than Pipers beach and made for nice cruising incuding time sparring with a ... (more)

On water just before sunset. Playing winds off the lagoon mostly along the beach front . Nice fresh breeze making a happy bow wave . The surfsprint board just wants to go upwind!!! Yeah. Lots of Herring jumping and not much smog making the panorama beutiful. Off the water at 8pm . So cool and quiet and easy , even in the dark.

Sailed from 4 - 5:30PM New board, new fin, oversized sail ( for shortboarding) and all sailed tuned marginally. Such is Pipers Beachfront with its Westerly Gusts and North Wind Shadow. Returns to the beach on shortboards are unattractive so I just sail gear as it is and enjoyed sun and puffs in my short legged streamer suit. South end of Pipers was more consitently whitecappung & Hammond Bay looked steadier overall.

Good progression session. Was able to foil out quite a distance and back. Upwind at times both directions. Seemed to evade kelp for the whole session. Key to success was the Bridal Barge SUP board - Thanks John. Once up I wanted to go faster and found that compared to small kite board and foil I needed so much more input to direct the board. Very similar to windsurfing. Some practise body dragging in water under wing. Felt muscles in places I have not ever used. Maybe time to try a more high aspect wing and ... (more)

Simple sunset sail up past Rocky Point . Lots of time to think and view the panorama . Gybed and sailed back in small rollers. A Hunter 40 (or similar) named FanaSea past by southward and two fish boats past northward enroute to Kus-land.

Wind switched to South back at Pipers Point. A newby Will who just bought a used HiFly and 6 meter greeted me.

Summer season just seems to continue! Paul was out kiting on his 10m, when we arrived. I followed suit on my ws foil, Sammy, Rob and Alicia all came out kiting too. No debris in the water, just slaloming around autumn leaves floating in the inlet. Wind on far side was slightly lighter than the middle and near the beach. Fog bank tonight when we were packing up looked promising, but who knows... October forecast is looking warm, sunny with possible wind continuing......!:)

Really want as much time as possible on the 800 before the temps drop. Amazing how easily it takes off with the super fast board design. Pretty much point the board downwind and it accelerates to takeoff speed.

    AIRUSH WAVE 9m
Got to try out my kiteboarding motorcycle rig 'kitemoto' . Good to see Dave and CB when I arrived. Rigged the 9m and set up my Foil and headed out, on my 3rd turn hit the biggest kelp bed in the bay..took me a few mins to drag my way out of it. The rest of the session was fun, nice to have the sun come out at the end and nice to see lots of familiar faces out.

Arrived to nothing inside but looked good outside. First run had power to foil once far enough off the beach, swerved around a log and some stray kelp, but kept hitting big ones that stopped the board even if I didn't. Had a long WOS. Later had epic fight with big kelp patch, wind going east, current going west. Combo of prone paddling the upside down board and downwind slogging got me out finally. Last run was just as sun set, aaaallmmosstt enough wind to foil. Good workout and good chats on the beach a ... (more)

Arrived excited for another summery session. Pumped the 12m and it looked good. Justin arrived on his motorbike with all his kite kit; that was a cool way to arrive for a session. Got a launch from Justin and got out there and it was pretty clean and strong. Did a couple reaches and then came face to face with a enormous, surfacing sea lion. It was close enough that I had to change course to avoid unwanted intimacy. I have never seen a sea lion in the bay between Clover and Finlayson Point. So my rep ... (more)

Woohoo what a fun night! So many wings! The big gear was the call and so much fun. Lots of happy wingers at the debrief. Back to my old faithful foil the Axis PNG 1150 but this time with the crazy short fuse... so fun! Forgot to turn my gps on!

Didn't think it was windy. Went down to check and lots of people out already. Swell was super fun. Wind was comfy to light. Almost got stuck at Clover as it backed off and too sloppy to get to my knees. Managed to catch a puff and foil home. Phew!

First try on the new big wing. Super fun, loads of bottom end once foiling but a very different pumping technique which I haven't quite mastered. So easy in the transitions.

It comes at a cost however which is lack of visibility, I need to get my head on more of a swivel when I'm using it.

Much better than I expected. Lumpy and confused seas at times but some steep fun linkable swell on the inside. Big turnout.

Started with a foil session on the 10m but was quickly overpowered and wallowing in the swell so switched to twin tip and had a fun session jumping off the kickers. Great to see a big group out on the water enjoying the extended summer.

Hot day in PA (up to 30 degrees)....drove out to China Creek and had a solo windfoil session (other than the breeching sea lion). SO SO good! Water texture was swelly...Wore my winter wetsuit and was sweating today. No boat traffic.

Love my foil. Smooooth riding. At one point, I was riding so high and started lift off (foil came out) of water and slammed down. Didn't crash or fall in, just kept riding :) An accidental foil jump ? lol .

Best session of the summer was a day in mid-August, when Olivia was bod ... (more)
