Fun day. Over powered again, this time things felt a little challenging on the 699. Had it too far forward in the track the first 40 minutes, made it really hard to control. After I put it back it was better. Lots of fun, but not forgiving.

Road closure. Decided to grab a few rides on the way to the dentist. Tswwassen said he was going to wind at Jericho but the waves looked good up at Acadia but not enough tide for him. I headed up to Acadia to check it out (I don't mind the walk to Upper Acadia on a low tide if the water look playful). Unfortunately the road was closed at Dog Beach ~ back to Jericho. Wind always seems a touch unsettled and it wasn't quite enough for the 4.5/92. Wasn't very interesting at first, but it freshened up a bi ... (more)

8m roam solo sesh - man that kite is so rad it's my favorite which I've said about every kite I've owned ever ! Opted to save some gas and stay put. nice and sunny, disorganized chop for the most part. I'm feeling a bit rusty in those types of conditions so I bailed the shorebreak runs and did an upwinder to the mayor McCheese zone to scope the scene but no one around so back downwind , couple little smoothies over past martins and beyond . Started out on the 999 schlogged around and managed to get up on foil in the gusts a couple times, Decided the 1150 would be more fun got back out and wind had dropped some more but the bigger foil saved the session much easier to pump up on foil, also forgot how stable it is, was able to flag out much easier on the small swell might have to practice that more often although much slower. Usual suspects out even in the marginal wind.

Thirsty for a taste of salt water, I went out in marginal conditions and got what I deserved. Took a long walk up the windward side of Clover and dragged out a way. The wind was so light, but on my third attempt, on my third session this year with my Flite, I got going and got past the rocks at Clover Point. I promptly wiped out in the big chop at the tip of the point. I recovered but lost ground and the wind eased even more. Looked promising at Clover Pt. Managed to get on foil and stay there barely. Then the wind freshened, dropped and freshened again. I kept thinking I'm cold - time to go in, but then someone else would come out and increased the stoke! Some fun swells just to windward of Clover for a bit. Almost gybed into the "Orca" whale watching boat as it went between me and the point. Woulda been Orca meat!

Missed the stronger wind earlier in the day. Wind looked too far offshore to bother with a stinker. But ripping upwind and nicely spaced out swell rolling through so there had to be good wind somewhere. First tack, realized I should have taken the 4m. BWD needs to add another category to the wind. Lull/Wind/Gust. I would say at least 25 near polly's point (enough wind to sheet and go switch start) with gusts to 35, but holes near the end to 10kn.

A bit out of my league especially on 4M. might have to think about a 2.5. Went out crashed a couple times very gusty, turn around rode a couple huge waves at full speed crashed made it back in, rested for a minute gave it another try but there was no way rode back on a few more huge waves waited for an hour for wind to die a bit but it only increased went back out once more but immediately turned around before I got blown off the water. Fun watching everyone some great rides and spectacular crashes.

Went out on the 860 first but it was not slippery enough. Switched to the 999. Way OP'd on the 3.5. That's my smallest wing so made it work for a while. Swell riding was great but going back upwind was too yanky for all round enjoyment. Out with Ryan, BWD, Junky, mrNS, Brett, Andrew.

I finally did it, put a hole in a brand new wing! Was super stoked to try the new KT 3.5 and my new Sabfoil 699/370 combo. Probably a bad choice to try 2 new things at once in 35 Knots with some massive waves happening. Got up on the foil twice then crashed, ending upwind of my board with my wing. Saw the foil sticking up in the air and knew what was coming, a second later the wing took off right into the foil. So that was the end of that. Got back to shore and rigged my 4.2. Windsurfed for 3 hours and it w ... (more)

Missed the epic waves at 3rd Ave this morning and went to White Rock early. Glad I wore my dry-suit as the clouds stayed over the sun for most of the session. Launched at East Beach, but spent an hour trapped at West Beach for a long lull. Finally re-rigged on the East side of the pier to rising wind and saved the session. Might have foiled. The waves were not as big as I expected.

Left work early to score some wind before it died. Fairly mellow session. Rigged bigger than usual. A bit much at times but probably the right call.

Went for a bunch of switch stance gybes with limited success. Have a hard time keeping up full speed while sailing switch.

One other windfoiler made it out for a while... the rest were wingers. Water still super chilly.
