Re: Kite, board, harness, pump, and bar and lines for sale

If I give you $10k for the lot, what else might be included?

Re: Newbie to Wing-Thing

Long fuse on a wing board is harder to adjust your angle of attack and pump onto foil just due to less leverage on it. Necessary for stability with a windsurf sail, completely not with a wing. I had some friends struggling to get on foil at CC with a metre more of wing than I was using on a windsurf...

Re: Newbie to Wing-Thing

No one said this yet (I think) but your windsurf foil will suck for winging. The fuselage is too long and you'll have much less leverage with no mast and harness to lean against. It will work yea, but it will be noticeably lamer. But if you can find a shorter fuselage all the other components will w...

I'm guessing the answer is, "because you first gotta find the new screw!"

Re: Stripped footstrap insert

Dry it out. Pour in any type of epoxy (JB-Weld will work great). Re-drill smaller than screw. Screw back in. Easy-as.

Re: Maui tips?

Best hack is to rent a U-Haul van and sleep in that in the U-haul car park beside Costco. Buddy from Toronto has done this twice for two weeks both times!

I have a line on a rental vehicle if you are looking.

BWD Post-Covid Oregon Coast Wave Special

Do sharks eat wingers? Will ex-windsurfers reuinte with their poles to dance at the sea star? Does freedom still only cost a buck O' five? Did La Casita de oro survive covid? If you can't camp on the rogue River anymore does camping still exist? Is gold beach meth as good as I don't remember it? The...

Re: Wingfoiling Progression

Outside Esquimalt lagoon is kelp free but the wind is usually gusty. I like it though. It's definitely more sketchy for kiting than for Wing or Windsurf. Look for SW days for better wind, WSW for not as great and W for gusty AF.

Re: Where to start?

Have you windsurfed? That will be a bigger help than foiling experience. Foiling experience just allows you to be used to the sensation and not freak out when you are feeling like you are (actually ~70cm) 10 feet in the air on foil!

On the desktop version if I click on either of the thumbnail photos on the right side on the home page they both go to the Gordons album even though when I hover over my last photo it shows the caption. Figured I'd mention that.

I think people mostly go with carbon for two primary reasons aside from obvious performance gains of it being lighter/stiffer: 1. It's a hell of a lot lighter to haul to the beach. 2. It's got way less inertia so if it mucks you it hopefully won't be as bad. Having carried a few aluminum foils to th...

Well actually it's the heavy logging traffic that has been forcing them to maintain it. Road is always the best when logging is gangbusters.
