Harry Weiler, a local kiter and supporter of our community has been given some difficult news: this will be his last week with us. His cancer has spread too far and doctors are discontinuing his treatment.

We are not pursuing an increase to camp fees.

During windfest the organizers are responsible for stocking the outhouses with TP and hand sanitizer, as well as providing first aid and security. Its in our agreement with the province.

The last few years have seen the costs of running Windfest skyrocket. Insurance, safety, security etc. This has grown from a grass roots event, to an internationally recognized festival.

All of us at Windfest are 100% unpaid volunteers. We also end up wearing any cost overages, and liability. Last ...

I organized the cooke/ victoria downwinder about 5 years ago. Here are some thoughts

- Your 33 ft cruiser is at risk of capsizing in the swells in the middle of the straight with cross winds. I nearly rolled a 25 ft Rib. This is the wrong boat for the job.

Help keep Windfest alive for 2018!

Windfest needs your help taking down the stage this Saturday Sept 16th 11am at the beach (NN)

Gloves and cordless drills are useful for this exercise.

Anyone at the beach at 11am is encouraged to help dismantle, move and stack the wood.
