Re: Windsurf Foiling Discussion
80cm is borderline, 60cm is way too short. Wind speed doesn't change that.

Re: Windsurf Foiling Discussion
I think you're butting your head against an unbalanced foil setup Kus. Not excess front wing size or anything else other than a fuselage too short and wing too far back.
Board too small if uphauling is difficult, should be dead easy with a foil under you.

I'm driving a truck after years of wagons. Mainly because I want to keep wet stuff in a different part of the vehicle from where the people go.

I think that's the only day I've gone for a back loop (not on film). CB is so fun when it's good.

Re: Skywalker seeks Board and Foil
I'm selling a board that would be a good starter.
https://www.nspsurfboards.com/product/f ... -foil-pro/
101L version. Easy board and fairly efficient.
$800 with a bag.
I'm currently out of the country but I'll be back in a few weeks.

Re: Windsurf Foiling Discussion
Mast position does matter though, you lose a lot of directional stability having it too far forward. It's just that is slightly less important than getting the front wing between your feet or slightly forward from that.
Why not just go winging rather than trying to windfoil with a marginal set-up.

Re: Windsurf Foiling Discussion
The thing is you kind of need the different fuselage dimensions to make each work. I've gone as far as machining custom fuselages to get foils to ride correctly.
Even harder when you don't know what correct looks like.
Something like a Slingshot PTM926 with both fuselages would be a good investment ...

Re: Windsurf Foiling Discussion
Longer fuselage is good, bigger tail with up or down swept tips is good too. It sounds like everything you have is for winging which usually has a lot less directional stability.

Re: Windsurf Foiling Discussion
Priority one is front wing between the straps and most people prefer the wing towards the front foot.
A slight back lean in the mast is good. Don't shim that.
The 44" thing is old news, I liked 35-38" with sails under 6m.
Use the 1300cm.

Re: 2nd Wing board options
Something around body weight to perhaps 10l under and a bit narrower than what you've got would be a solid plan. For me at 95kg and 85L taxies pretty easy in light wind and a 100L is only a touch easier. In both cases if it's really light sitting down saves a lot of energy when there is chop.
