Re: How the Wing-Thing is going.....
Oops...sorry if I wasn't being clear. Was suggesting Dave gets a bike (for some reason I thought he rode bikes but we've only bumped into each other a couple times at RB, so not sure). If yes, then I was suggesting, in a very sarcastic way, that the two of you could join each other on some waves. Wh...

Re: How the Wing-Thing is going.....
Hello @Bobson: I wonder if this might work well for you. Just load up some podcasts on the (optional) cassette deck and put on some real miles. That was hilarious!!! Bobson should definitely get one! For some reason I thought someone told me you were into biking. Maybe you could get one of these ht...

Re: How the Wing-Thing is going.....
That sounds great Bobson!!! However, didn't you used to call it 'wanging'? I see it is 'winging' now that you've taken to it. I don't know all the ins and outs of gear but isn't that 115 cm fuse uber long for wing dinging? I think I have a middle of the road 60 cm fuse, it is one aspect I've n...

Re: New Wing Handles
If you had a huge dw board and a foil that did not require too much pumping, then maybe? That's what I figured. Was just trying to think outside the box, never having paddled onto a foil DW or flat water for that matter. Have paddled a bunch, just not with foils. But I can promise, as a wind person...

Re: Replacing Armie (or other) Screws
Hahaha...after sending that post I found this - https://forum.progressionproject.com/t/ ... roken/2068 . Guess my broken screw is not a big deal, relatively speaking. Probably should change them going forward.

Replacing Armie (or other) Screws
My better half still rides the HS1850 kit with 72 cm mast I got in '21. I sometimes take it out in light wind if she's not going, I still have a lot of fun on it - it is fast for what it is, easy to get on foil, super low stall speed, etc. I also got an 85 cm mast that year but didn't ride it much, ...

Re: New Wing Handles
You don't need a screwdriver to get the paddle off (see around 8 min in the North video - D-ring + velcro strap holds it to the mounts), however, you are left with two mounts on the wing once the paddle is off. At just after 7 min of the same video they talk about removing handles to avoid canopy da...

Re: Wing Gloves - Winter
Thanks for the update. I've been out a couple of times of with a hybrid of the Ion hybrid. Got Ion mitts from Jesse coupled with the Home Despot gloves mentioned here https://bigwavedave.ca/forums/topic/10577.html . Think the ones I actually got were https://www.homedepot.ca/product/gorilla-grip-lar...

Re: GPS Watch
Any Garmin users may want to see if their watch is compatible with this: https://www.haigh.id.au/GPSTC.htm https://apps.garmin.com/en-CA/apps/f0f3fbd5-9de3-4d69-b89b-10b76d6a9f0f https://apps.garmin.com/en-CA/apps/9f6d617d-0a35-49f8-ac68-1dff9d04054e Looks like it might be interesting, although it s...

Re: Wing Gloves - Winter
Thanks! Funny thing - Jeff was one I reached out (by email - haven't heard back yet). Vince in Vancouver doesn't have them. And I just shot Jesse an email too. He has Ion gloves and mitts (including that open mitt I recently asked about). Visualizing paddling, pulling in the sides, and making a fist...

What To Do With Really Old Kite Gear
Found this https://bigwavedave.ca/forums/topic/11062.html , https://bigwavedave.ca/forums/topic/3629.html , and https://bigwavedave.ca/forums/topic.html?t=7346 but they don't answer all my questions, although similar. 1) I actually kited a session, or two, with the items in the attached photos in '2...

Re: La Ventana
Thanks Dave, that is great! Found even more forum info on LV. Will use that in the future rather than forum search. For others, if they don't already know, it also accessible through the "+" on the menu at the right, fourth item down.

La Ventana
Guess it is an easy jaunt to go there from Vic (and many do), since there is a Thursday direct flight to Los Cabos. Sure would help my glove/hand/forearm issues!! Caveat - I don't know and have never been to LV. Instead of travelling with gear I was looking at options like - https://www.prowindsurfl...

Re: Wing Gloves - Winter
I am about to receive these Ion glove/mitts These look like a great idea. Are you able to share where you got them from? A quick search shows them for sale in Europe, right now, and one US shop in NC (Banx), which I never heard of. Will call a couple of Canadian ION shops to see if they know the st...
