It’s been a few years but from what I remember, it wasn’t nearly as gusty as Elk Lake. It’s a sandy bottom so it’s pretty warm. It blows onshore so you’re not out too far either. Best place in Vic I found for light wind lessons.

Try Cadboro Bay - Gyro Park. I used to teach WS there and it was usually pretty good. Enough for learning anyway. The wind usually wraps in from the straight and blows onshore. It’s shallow and sandy too.

I used to windsurf at Esquimalt Lagoon all the time. Great spot!
It's really nice on SW or SSW. Its usually west though which works too but tends to be gusty. It's a bit better further out.
