LV room

Marty, glad to hear that you and Jill arrived safely. Yes, I am interested in renting a room from you. Right now I am working my way through medical appointments for Winnie and me, so not sure when we can be there. Winnie says that she would like to come. Is there a decent launch there? How far from...

Barbados

Speedy, Try Brian Talma, Irie Man. He has a shop, good launch and the prettiest girls. Further east on the south coast is an Italian group from Lake Garda. They are cool, have good gear and launch. Bus - I'm not sure about gear but possible. Just remember that large buses go only two ways - To Bridg...

Baja travel in January

Martin, Thanks for the update. We are envious! On Saturday, Tom S, Rick Roberts, Arturo and Sherrin, Jimmy Lewis and friend Utta, Jimmy's daughter Colleen, and Marcus joined Woynshet, Avery and I for a send-off dinner for Tom and Art, who will be heading your way today. I made a couple of dozen beef...

Baja travel in January.

I am considering driving to La Ventana in the second week of January, then returning by end of Febuary.
Does anyone want to share driving and expenses in a VW Westy?
Alternately, I'd consider helping another kiter drive his rig down in the same time frame.

Oregon coast

Kus, sounds like you've got a good group at the gravel pit. Great Gorge weather. Well earned brews.
We're leaving Portland area this AM and will sip and swirl our way through the Yamhill, Dundee area on the way to the coast.
BWD forcast looks good for Florence by Wednesday. Are you coming?

Oregon

Kus and company, the Thorps are in Vancouver, Washington, visiting relatives. Had an afternoon session at Swell City yesterday. 4.2 meter. Nice moving moguls. Heading to the coast tomorrow. Probably Florence. Where are you guys? Giles ( m. 250-514-1279 )

Mast bases and universals

I concur with Windoc and Morewind. I had a tendon joint break. If ever an hourglass U-joint breaks, the webbing will likely enable you to return to shore. I note that the two photos show a one-screw base. If you are considering any wave riding, I would recommend using a two-bolt base. Less chance fo...
