Re: Newbie to Wing-Thing

Whoooo!! Welcome to another wingman!! Oh my :D , I forsee a big drop in the Bobson Logs for 100+km sessions and the 100% jibe completions, but only just a temporary thing, you'll be flying by week 2!

- think you'll definitely want a 5.5m or 6m. A 5m will be too small for you to begin with.
Cheers

Re: Wing Gloves - Winter

Thanks for the update. I've been out a couple of times of with a hybrid of the Ion hybrid. Got Ion mitts from Jesse coupled with the Home Despot gloves mentioned here ... So far, WAY warmer than 3 mm gloves with holes + nitrile gloves. That looks like a good setup Slake! Nice to have warmish finger...

Re: Winter Sailing - ARE WE PREPARED??

After my dumpvalve leak and long schlog back in tough conditions I'm bumping this timeless topic to the top of our conscience! It's that time of year to start preparing for FALL / WINTER SAILING and all the GREAT HATE  that goes with it! Think safe, do a quick pre-flight assessment of equip...

Just talked with him and he's shipping in a day or 2 (was waiting for an Axis Skinny 365/55 tail to arrive too before shipping, wh...

Re: Wing Gloves - Winter

I am about to receive these Ion glove/mitts , which may potentially be the solution I've been looking for. They have a super thin 1mm glove inside the 2.5mm overmitt with opening. Will report on them once tested. The search for the mythical windsport winter glove continues. BTW i just tested yesterd...

Re: Lost Board Cabrinha Code with Axis foil and Mast

You should let the Coast Guard know as it may initiate a search for missing person/board owner. They also frequently get called by someone who finds it, so they can relay on your information to finder to get it back! I know happened to me once.

Re: Wing Rescue

Always do a pre-flight check!! check your wing and board leash connections, make sure wing dump valves are securely closed, make sure all your foil bolts tight and no obvious slop in your connections, if you're using footstraps give them a tug/twist to make sure the screws are tight. Finally, put on...

Re: Early Nitinat sessions

Back in the day, it used to be as early as March for some people, definitely April, of course all depending on weather and forecast...however it's no longer a public Forestry site and is now part of DItidaht lands. The access to the campsite and day use is probably not open, officially it's not unti...

Re: Wing Gloves - Winter

There has yet to be a decent winter sailing glove/mitt invented as far as I'm aware. I have tried almost everything for windsurfing in the past. All of them have some thickness of neoprene on the back of the hand which your hand/fingers constantly work against the resistance of the neoprene which in...
