Wing bladder pinhole repair tip
Hey everyone, Here's a tip to locate very small leaks in wing/kite bladders. I've recently had to repair 4 very tiny tiny pinholes in my wing strut bladder. Let me tell you finding them was a bugger! I first noticed my wing strut would get soft after an hour or longer, not catastrophically soft ...

Re: Weather at Lake Nitinaht
Loving the daily reports and musings.
A strong temperature gradient combined with presence/absence of coastal fog are what really makes it blow strong (or not so strong). There are ways to forecast fog too, but the easiest is to look in the morning at the Visible and Fog imagery available on BWD ...

Thanks for the update. I've been out a couple of times of with a hybrid of the Ion hybrid. Got Ion mitts from Jesse coupled with the Home Despot gloves mentioned here ... So far, WAY warmer than 3 mm gloves with holes + nitrile gloves.

Re: Winter Sailing - ARE WE PREPARED??
After my dumpvalve leak and long schlog back in tough conditions I'm bumping this timeless topic to the top of our conscience!
It's that time of year to start preparing for FALL / WINTER SAILING and all the GREAT HATE  that goes with it!
Think safe, do a quick pre-flight assessment of ...

Just talked with him and he's shipping in a day or 2 (was waiting for an Axis Skinny 365/55 tail to arrive too before shipping ...

Re: Wing Gloves - Winter
I am about to receive these Ion glove/mitts , which may potentially be the solution I've been looking for. They have a super thin 1mm glove inside the 2.5mm overmitt with opening. Will report on them once tested. The search for the mythical windsport winter glove continues.

Re: Lost Board Cabrinha Code with Axis foil and Mast
You should let the Coast Guard know as it may initiate a search for missing person/board owner. They also frequently get called by someone who finds it, so they can relay on your information to finder to get it back! I know happened to me once.

Re: Wing Rescue
Always do a pre-flight check!! check your wing and board leash connections, make sure wing dump valves are securely closed, make sure all your foil bolts tight and no obvious slop in your connections, if you're using footstraps give them a tug/twist to make sure the screws are tight.
