Details | Arrived at Noon after a morning of Boxing Day shopping for a new Air Fryer. Yes, somewhat painful. Anyways, saw some OSR's for RB so headed down when I got home from the nightmare. GregCan and H-Rock out both foiling but H-Rock just went out on his 6.0m and foiled right away. Gustastic had just come in. Danno was rigging a 6.0m as well. It was 10-15 inside but looked like more outside. I thought I could get it done on my fat 4.5m so went with that. Perfect call BOBSON!! As I went out, it started picking up and was 20-25kts on the outside. Lots more Doods showed up but still not as many for how good it was out there. For me, it was FULL ON!! Lots of Wind and Waves. It was really windy so I came in and flattened the 4.5m as much as I could as I was waaaay overpowered. I had to cut my runs shorter than usual because the outside was cray-cray with large swells so I really had to concentrate on my jibes on the outside and having said that, was "100% Staying Dry" which was amazing, considering the conditions. In the end, it died down pretty quickly but Danno and I chose the right time to come in as we both foiled right into the beach but 5 minutes later everyone on the water was schloggin' except for SuperAmazingDave.ca who was on a 3.5m (I think) making it work. WOW!! After an hour and a half my arms were pretty tired as it was too windy to stay hooked in. I really had a great time today and figure I improved my wave foiling and sailing in overpowered conditions. I think these type of sessions make me a better foiler and set me up for Winging when things warm up. Docker got there late and was heading back out on his 6.0m when we were leaving, BigWave and The Junkman were still out there. Even said Hi to DOG who I didn't see on the water but was out there in the big winds. Wonder if he'll log his session today..' I guess we'll see. On the menu tonight, Corona (surprise) and some chicken wings in the 'new Air Fryer'. WooHoo!! BOBSON OUT!! [from Session Log on Thursday December 26, 2024] |
