| Details | The wind was very winter-like with lots of punches and lots of holes. Tide was high and the shore break was pretty big with a few logs rolling around too. I tried to enter the water at the bottom of the ramp on the windward side but got upended by a couple of big shore breaks. I managed to keep the kite controlled but thought better of it than to try that again. So I walked a couple hundred meters down the beach and had a much more pleasant entry into the water. Out on the water it was pretty fun as the swell was quite ridable but the wind punching and lulling made it less enjoyable and more work. Despite the challenging condition I was making most foot changes and felt like I had good control on the water. All in all I am glad I didn't let myself talk me out of going b/c it was a worthwhile if short session. [from Sailing Log on Monday October 23, 2023] |
