I would say this is the lower limit of the 17m. Cheap Amazon anemometer said 4.8-6.2 knots at ground level. Maybe a little more higher up? Used line extensions and surfboard, was almost able to mow the lawn but lost ground at each transition. Session ended when I lost 2 fins in shallow water. But I found them and I think I can put them back on 
Edit: Put the fins back on and went back out after lunch and wind was 6 gusting to 8. Mowed the lawn through herring sperm water and a colony of sea lions... k<b>......</b>

Broke my 8 degree rule and headed to the beach on Dan’s insistence. Glad I did, had a great session in the sunshine and wasn’t as cold as I had feared, lasted 2 hrs with pretty decent conditions on a falling tide. Cruises up to the dolphins and rode some swellies back down. Came in as the wind shifted a little bit more W. Even had a post sesh beer in the parking lot with puffy jacket and gloves on  but a nice kick-off for the local season, esp if this stupid virus grounds us for a while

Contemplating a hard self launch with a high tide on my 6M when Dave C. Showed up for a dog walk just at the right time. Had an hour of kiting with some small gusts and a little depower pulled in. Some nice shore pound to ride all the way past the beach house restaurant. Blue clearing came and the wind and gusts increased to no fun anymore on a 6m. The first 10 min. Had me debating on continuing until my face numbed up and my hand balanced out with the cold. Great session overall.

Would have been four smiles, but had to reduce to account for the chill.  What I said about NE being gusty, was incorrect today. Nice wind and fully powered on the 7M and short board. Great timing for a launch at 1PM, still enough water to get out and big ramps near Point Roberts early on in the session. Absolutely Epic NE!!!!!

Chilly. Temp was 5 while rigging and it was cold. More so on the water (even after I put the gloves on). One kite up. Wind punchy, but workable for the most part. Graph over-reporting. Flat 'speed ditches' on the inside (but not the right wind angle to use them effectively). Small onshore wind-waves on the sandbars on the second bank and a fun rolling shoulder of wind swell out in the deeper water off Maple Beach. Wind gently ramped up until until dark.

Epic NorEaster! Cranking in the right spot at the right time, but still a gusty NE, so a few lulls too. So smooth between the sandbars, yet a few ramps on the outside. Solo until around 3PM, then a couple of kiters make the long walk out at low tide. The forecast tomorrow looks even stronger?

DM had already been out when I arrived so he gave me the wind report. Always nice to know what’s going on past the lighthouse. I put a bigger fin on for upwind performance. The 99 Thruster worked great. Good size to slog in and out but still loose. Swell came down a bit but still some good sized waves. A bit jumbled but if you worked at it you could go from one swell to another, working your way downwind. Cool watching Udder and DM slash up those swells in the sun. Speaking of sun, it was warmish <b>......</b>

Taka. Almost didn't go, but glad I did. Thought the 4.5/92 was going to be too much, but it backed a little while I was rigging. Girthy swell early on. Chilly bare hands. New sail (I like it - sensitive, responsive, power-on-demand, controllable) - very fun! Set on 'medium' (downhaul and outhaul) and that was in the middle of the wind on offer. Solo at first, then one WS, then three kites (including Cash). Swell dropped on ebbing tide. Only hit one 'stick' today.

Beautiful day in the sun. Large swell for the first half hour, then typical Pipers size. Had to rig up to the 5.5 as i like to be fully powered in the lulls...less work that way.
I had to take a couple breaks. Out of shape as I have not sail as regularly as usual. Arms feel a bit stretched 
Just the 3 amigos. Udder, thanks for getting me out for the 3rd time today. So fun!!!
Maybe more tomorrow.

Double session !!! After morning session snowboarding, rushed to work and lunch.
Couldn't shake off my feeling of FOMO (while nursing a torn rotator cuff from snowboarding 9 days ago) ... I grabbed by kite gear from the North Shore then darted off to Spanish Banks.
Sand bars were perfect for an easy self launch. Scored 1.5 hrs on 12m+surfboard in W 20-22 with the usual chop. Fun in the sun riding with AJ and Dan.
Pain in my shoulder was minimal - worst part was peeling off the wetsuit. So happy to <b>......</b>

Five smile session!!! Launch at 11AM with Mark and Cash.
Epic upwind on out going tide over the sand bank. Reached Wreck Beach and massive waves around noon. It felt like Hawaii near the mouth of the North Arm with the swell. The river was an elevator upwind. Stayed until a few clouds started to gather near the city. Stellar downwind run on the edge of the bank.

After checking numerous beaches north of Comox in search of some waves I finally found the one. Super sketchy self-launch/land but came away unscathed. very overpowered on the 7 but made it work. fun waves with the low tide but not sure how the spot would work on a high tide. new to the area so don't want to expose anyone's "secret spot" but would love to have a kite buddy in the future. 2 other kites out.

Lone dawn patrol! A little slow to get going but wind did fill in nicely & as forecast. Full on 4.7 out, totally lit, could barely hold the gear but needed horses inside...5.0 would’ve done it mostly. Lovely waves built as the tide came in. What a marvellous way to start the day. Happy to finally find/use my new winter suit… After winter is over was sweating  
Sail 7 wave 6 jump 5. That quad n sail rock!!

Had to go to Parksville to pick something up so grabbed my gear for a bonus sail. Wanted to try the new Goya Banzai. It worked great. Soft, maneuverable, easy handling. It didn’t seem super powerful, but definitely enough. Looking forward to trying it at Long Beach. No real waves to speak of and not much wind so not the best day. Would have been better on the 111 L but way too long a trek for a board change. Or could have used a bigger fin with the bigger sail. I’m surprised how well the Goya Th<b>......</b>

Last minute friend/family trip but saw a W forecast so why not. Quite gusty and straight onshore with a steep shore break... a little touch and go but once I got past the washing machine it wasn't too bad. OP'd in the gusts at the end.

First time kiting since getting back from Maui. Fun, but damn it's harder and a lot more work with all the rubber on. Quit when I got so gassed I had doubts about being able to hold myself upwind.

What I said about NE being gusty, was incorrect today. Nice wind and fully powered on the 7M and short board. Great timing for a launch at 1PM, still enough water to get out and big ramps near Point Roberts early on in the session. Absolutely Epic NE!!!!! 
....work dragged by, finally over & lo n behold Alex was on the incoming tide, waves, wind!!! Got more delayed & missed some but got a good peak, waves built, almost lost my crocs in sperm foam. Turquoise Tahiti colors! Not too cold either, lovely session. Hiho scored the late shift, sailed til past dinner
