Arrived at 2:05pm to see RobbieDS and sig nif other doing pushups....ya, I know, weird!! Since Master U-L-R arrived and joined in on the pushups, I figured I would rig up my antiquated sailing device. Ya Baby!! It looked 13-15kts so rigged a fat 4.5m Sailworks Flyer. Water started to look ruffley, so prepared to hit it around 3. Arrived to Bobson on goat hill rigging some sort of antiquated sailing device (thought he was a winger now!?!?) Rigged big and joined him, just the two of us for a long time, then Tweezer showed. Today was my first time ever having an issue with eel grass! Cross border winging. A bunch of us went to Point Roberts to wing, I think there were seven of us at one point. Wind was really up and down, but it finally kicked in when things cleared. Didn't last, when that rain started again it killed it. Some nice swell even though the wind wasn't great. Saw one porpoise playing in the waves, funny it showed up when the waves were the best, guess it new when it was on.

Came over on Queen of Cowichan from Dep Bay . Strong SE in Salish sea swinging to ESE & 15 at Passage Isle. WVYC Pumpkin Bowl Regatta Laser, 420 & 29r fleets were out rockin & rolling. Weak winds from NE at Ambleside. Sailed out to shipping channel greating 3 freighters then eastward to Capilano River headwaters and shore dancing on back eddies to get back ti the club. Bummer the south 19knot gusts forecast on windy.tv didn't percolate.

Finally scored a decent wave session at 3rd Ave without dragging weeds. Scored the morning session at low tide in SSE 18-20 on 8m+surfboard with Makani weed fins (quad). Launched from 3rd Ave and in one tack reached the boat launch. Fun waist high waves. It was a solo session for the first hour until Mark joined in on his 12m+TT.
Great to see familiar faces like Mark, Mike, Chuck and Jerry.

Nice session on the 1150cm2 and 5m! Had to work for it though. A bit of walking out at lowish tide and a bit of slogging in when a rain shower knocked 10 knots off. Probably should have called it, but slogged out again as it was picking up a started to foil again.........but not enough. Slogged back in before it really picked up again about 2 pm, but I was out of patience.

By pure luck, timed it perfectly- got out past the break just as the wind rebuilt.
Had perfect conditions for most of it - steady strong wind, good sized waves- fun.
Wind continued to build to high 20s, with a solid 1m swell- started to question my sanity - especially when neighbor Mike the kiter finally came out to play- he's even more of an addict than me!.
All in all good times worshiping at MY church :-)

Wouldn't log but I don't think I've been out for weeks. A few were up on foil as I was rigging. I launched in hope that the wind would fill in again. Did that twice. Pumped wing and board and felt like I might go once. Practiced hooking into the harness when the wind got to 8-10 knots a couple of times. Also practiced straight downwind 'rescue' sail.

Local session in Mill Bay with Frasermc. Crosswind with light swell, more consistent conditions mid-inlet. Sailed underpowered on the 5.0/1200 for the first half. It filled in again just after we squared off the gear so I rigged the 6.0 for another hour in 14 kts. Warmish in the bay, still bootless in October :))

Session was fairly average until the porpoises came through, at least 50 of them breaching what seemed like everywhere so I slowed right down and made sure I hit the water a lot so they knew I was coming through. No hits, nice! That was the porpoise part obviously, the Peanut head part was some idiot set a crab trap with line that went over 50ft along the top of the water to the buoy. Tried the 940 in the light stuff and got up ok in a puff right away but of course it dropped so I did a switch out and decided to play it safe and go with the 1100. Had a fun hour with Idefix. Got in just as wind died with lots of pumping from pretty far out. Went right past Idefix who had fallen off the foil and was packed up by the time he had taxied all the way back in. Not as good as last weekend but good enough!

With the gale last night, woke up to surprisingly light winds.
Rebuilt just as I got out. Had a really quality session in building waves.

Quick evening session after watching the wind all afternoon. Arrived to what would have been fine 5m wind in puffs but didn't want to get stuck if it dropped before dark so pumped the 7m. Had an excellent session with Greg at Willows. Grabbed the usual gusts in the CP side of the bay and headed off to CP/Cad Bay to try and chase down Greg. That was an excercise in futility as he sped off into the depths of Cad Bay and beyond JJI. I wasn't trusting the winds that much and just turned around halfway to Chatham and just played by CP and in Willows. Good thing for me as the winds turned a bit more fickle and holey after about an hour. Bobson was just starting out as I was ending. Woo hoo!

Met up with Junky at CP, made my own parking spot next to the Bobson man van. Busted out the boots and gloves which were needed as it was chilly! Chased Bobson around for a while, then chased Junky who was really flying until he had an epic crash, not sure if it was a kelp hit or he had reached max speed!

Arrived at CP at 11:15am to 2 Wings out, GregCan and HighRocker but they were headed back to Willows so rigged up the 6.0m as it looked 10-15kts and had the PTM926(1263cm2) on the front. More RB awesomeness! I arrived late and missed the 4m winds, but the 6m winds in summery conditions were just fine! Great to share the swells with many OGs and a treat to watch the elite riders show their sweet skills. Lots of wingers in the water, but it never felt crowded. Kelp seems to be thinning. Lots of carves, continuous jibes, faux flags and woo hoos. More holes started to show up nearer to sunset so I called it a day. Post-ride bevy and banter with Danno was a perfect ending. GPS fail today.
