Weird storm session, dropped to 10 knots when I first went out on my 4.2m. Came back in grabbed my 6m then within 20 minutes it was gusting to 20 knots. Grabbed my 4.2 again then had an ok session but the swell was messy and was hard to get a rhythm going.

Short but fun session. Not as cold as I thought it would be but I sure hate glove season. Some fun steep waves in the bay with less intense conditions compared to the outside, but still got rolled around in the shore break a few times when I came in too close.

A fun IV session with Jeff and BWD. Excellent waves for a bit along the kite launch area, and some big swells marching outside. Choppy and gusty but overall relatively mellow/easy compared to the last few survival sessions at IV. Spent the whole session wondering if I should size down...probably should have.

made it to willows around 2:30 saw it was maybe 10 knot wasn't happy... took a quick look at the scene at cattle point... wind line looked good heading into cadboro bay so headed there and was blowing hard.. i decided to launch by toudor rd to get some upwind purches..everything looked a lot calmer from this angle so rigged the 6.5 slalom sail... i didn't want to risk being underpowered.. but holy smokes i was blasting pretty hard and had a tough time keeping the sail down .. alot of back slapping and doin ... Followed Greg, Bobson, and GMan into the Willows wildness. Tough entry for me, with the side on strong winds. I found the conditions really challenging. I crashed often, confused by the turbulent swell and strong winds. Even jibes were a challenge, until I got acclimatized. It was tough for me to get out of the bay so I stayed below MTI and close to shore. Cool to share the swells with the OG wingers and one kiter. Considered a second session, but the conditions and another shorebreak fight discouraged me.

Love at first ride! Wind was pumping when I arrived at about 2 pm as the first shift where overpowered if still sailing or packing up. Rigged small gear (79/3.8) and was lit from the start! Madian voyage on 2023 Goya 79 Custom 4. Wind kept ramping up the whole session! Some gusts strong enough it was hard to breath at times. Not sure how Gleb hung onto that 5.0 for the whole session! Pipers looked like certain death '? so I went in Departure Bay (5m).
Should've launched down by Cilaire as there was a bit of slogging to get out to the wind line.
Fingers frozen, came back in and added some marigolds under my 3mm gloves. Great tip I read on here a couple of years ago! Made a huge difference! Highly recommend '

Arrived to the A team coming in. Figured what better way to test the new 879 artv2 than really high tide, logs and shore pound at IV. Impressed immediately by its speed, glide and easy launch. More pitch sensitive but still carves like the spitfire. Rode some big ones and was lit on the 3 most of the time. Stayed pretty close to the launch as there were kiters upwind but no other wingers. Fun day and happy I went. Thanks for the assurance BWD.

Sidney was too light, IV was too gnarly, and Willows looked just right. On the way home Sidney looked decent though.
Quite out of shape and rusty. Need to rebuild the arms. The 4m is a bit bagged out now so needs some muscle to compensate for inefficiency. Nice to be out but didn't last long.

Dave C. and I decided to give IV a go and we were not disappointed. The wind was above forecast and very punchy. Large shore break, but I have seen worse there. Wow! I've not seen CB this windy and wavey in years! Standout sailing by Ozy, Markus, Blue sail guy and Hajo. I was severely OPd but hooked into a couple of mackers that made my day!! Drove by Tweezer'sPond and saw the namesake and Windjunk playing in the cold dreary wet...eeeck, it didn't appeal to this seal, so headed over to Willies. Passed MF4 driving out as i was heading in. Got to willows and headed straight out to Tweezers and guess who was already there (Tweezer) . Some nice big swell out there but a bit lumpy with the odd kelp bomb. Sailed there for about an hour or so and when tweezer was done headed back over to willows and played around in the much smaller but fun swell there with the rest of the guys.

First session on HM mast and second session on the MA700cm2 foil. Used the small stab on the long fuse just to give me a fighting chance, and it payed off!
The first 1/2 hr was a little light and East, but it picked up at noon and plenty of SE wind after that. Rain and few weeds down in the bay, but less and less as I worked windward in the second hour. The foil felt fast!

Checked the swell at Turkey/marina/tweezers and looked fun if not a little light. Suited up and a short paddle to the wind. 3.5m seemed a little slim for the first while, but then Greg and junky came up from willows and brought more wind. Swells were best in the kelp beds so side swiped those with good success. One kelp takedown. Saw Bobson coming my way. I waved but he didn't wave back. Too busy man-handling his rig I guess. 150th session of the year. YAY!! I arrived at 9am after scarfing down some Tweezer-cakes at home. Anyways, I arrived to 1 Wing out and 15kts. A bit chilly but not much shore break so rigged quick. Roy was rigging his kite as I headed out. On my favorite set-up today! Stayed dry for the first 40 mins or so, there was real ocean swell and then some chop, a few logs but low kelp and hardly any eel grass! Had a close call with Tuna and ULR, fortunately no contact. Stayed out a little too long and had to slog back to the launch. Good times!

Fine swell lines down to Harling Pt, some menacing logs and lots of sea room .
