Arrived early for Rockstar parking. Wind came up at 12:30pm and Doods started arrived quickly like Sir-Lance-A-Lot in his fancy-mobile MattyB on his Pope-mobile, TnT in his truck, H-Rock in his van and BWD in the BWD-mobile. Lance and I headed out, seemed offshore a bit, lots of wind in the strait but less in the bay. Me on my 4.5m and Lance on his 6.0m. I lasted one run out and back, got past the point and BOOM, 30kts so I turned tail and headed in to wait it out. Lance did the same. 20 mins and it came down to 20-25kts, perfect. Lots of Doods onsite now, Goat Hill was full. Tough conditions today, lots of gusty winds, waves coming from W and SE still from overnight storm and hard rain that felt like hail at some points. I had the 4.5m very flat and stayed mostly inside for the first 45 mins and then it flattened out a bit so made a couple runs on the outside. Lots and Lots of Wingers today. JustJohn and T-Y Whits even made an appearance and GBV freshly returned from LaVentana. Even saw The Junkman at the top of Goat Hill parked up near The Wind Doctor. Anyways, had a good day up until the last run when I fell coming back in and there wasn't enough wind to waterstart but waves were big enough to make it difficult to uphaul. ugh! Spent a few mins in the water and didn't like that much especially since I forgot my gloves for my last couple runs. Body pretty tired and cold. Got home for hot coffee with a shot of whiskey and hot shower. BOOM (again), all good. mental note: don't forget the warm booties next time, the 1mm water shoes didn't cut it today, cold feet. Looking forward to spring/summer.
