north winds don't happen very often but when they do there's a good beach south of town towards the ferry. no beach if the tide is up though. more common is the SE, you can catch at Cherry Pt, but you get about 10 kts less than the airport/IV. With foils coming in vogue i think westerly inflows in ...

I sailed out of Macktush years ago, after doing a little job up that side of the inlet. i recall it was a nice camp spot with good water access. this was early spring and the place was deserted. the wind was ok, probably the same you'd see at China Creek. There is a lot of boat traffic there and ...

sorry about my ignorance but, if you're buying a 3.6 wing does that mean there's just no point in windsurfing anymore? also, do you need an equivalent small board and foil ?

i cut carbon hockey sticks all the time, the trick is wrap it with tape to avoid splinters, use a fine tooth saw and sand the edge to avoid slivers afterwards. also don't breathe any of the dust. but yes it will be a bit short.

removing old pad is a big pain in the ass, ive learned this lesson a couple times. be prepared to do lots of scraping and get pretty baked on fumes. i used goo gone, turpentine, paint thinner and even acetone, also hot sunshine helps. mask and gloves a good idea!
for a new pad i'd probably go to ...

i lived up there long ago and Clucluz Lake out west of town was the windsurf spot, usually windy on summer afternoons. I checked out Tabor Lake one time and it was ok but quite squally. good luck!
