I just have an idea.

Why don't we call it "Vic Evans Nitinat Windfest" or somehow devote it to the great man. He didn't want us to morn, but we can show our respect and remember him this way.

What do you think?

Windsurf Event

Post by Bobson »

Okey Dokey.....Who is willing to step up and help out with the windsurfing event this year :?: :?:

It would be best if 2 or possibly 4 people made themselves available as I will run the freestyle event and that would allow the others to take part in the events as well this year and each could then run one event(course, slalom) and help with overall organization. I will tell them what I learned last year. Most of the job is organizing the competitors so they know where to be and when to be there. It's a lot of fun and you get to make many new friends. :D

Please post a reply if you're willing to help out this year :!:
Good Times,
BOBSON!!

WINDFEST 2007

Post by Mark »

Hey everyone........August 10, 11 and 12th is arriving soon and Windfest will require volunteers and committment in order to acheive last years results.

I have spoken to Judi with Nitinaht Extreme Adventures and the NFC (OUR BIGGEST SPONSORS) and hope to meet with her tomorrow. Her company and the Nitinaht Community is once again the main reason we can have such an event. It is important that anyone who may be interested in helping out contact Judi and/or myself (Mark), so that we can move ahead.
More information will be posted very soon and there will be a website this year.
It sounds like OCEAN RODEO and BEST KITEBOARDING and hopefully SLINGSHOT and NAISH will be sending up gear, riders, as well as demo gear.......

It is important that both windsurfing and kiteboarding are again part of the event, and I think one of our goals is to keep the events all in the same area.........hence the event will be over three days this year!

Anyone who can help or who wants to be a part in any way, such or manner please contact:

Windfest 2007 Welcomes Team Naish

Post by Mark »

Hi Mark and Jude,

I understand that you two are the contact people regarding the Nitinaht Windfest 2007 event?

My name is Kyle Touhey from Naish Kiteboarding & Windsurfing.

I was wondering about getting some more info for the event. I would like to see how we (Naish) could help out?

Myself and some of the regional Naish riders would be stoked to come and compete in the contest events (both WS & kite). I’d also like to know how else we could help out. Perhaps kite & board demos?

I am also affiliated with O’neill as a rider, so if you would like me to pass on any info to them as well I would be happy to do so.

Anyways, please keep me informed of any developments and info. It was a great event last year and we’d love to help support it this year.

Regards,

Kyle Touhey

Hey, some kiteboard lessons would be a great prize! I personally wouldn't take up kiting without lessons, and would prefer to spend the money needed for lessons on new windsurf gear; but winning a prize might well get me into the sport.

If there is any interest, I could reciprocate with a windsurf lesson (I'm non accredited, but I've taught a few people and my Kona board is perfect for beginners). Anyone else that could do this too?
