Nanaimo River Road to Nitinat?

Does anybody know if Nanaimo River Road is open through to Youbou/Nitinat?

Backroads mapbook's site update says the gate at 22k is open after May 1st.
Google maps now shows it goes through (it didn't before)

Has anyone driven this lately or have any more recent info?

the back end might be gated too. check it out and report back! Timberwest is the licensee to call.

I've had no luck with the gates on that road and I don't believe any of the signage anymore. We've been trapped in and kept out when they claim it's open on the sign.
