Home Base in the Columbia River Gorge?
http://www.gorgevista.com - View lots & homes in Rufus (Eastern Gorge). Lot prices starting at $35K and Land/home packages starting at $137K!
Do you like windsurfing in Rufus / The Gorge, but don’t like:
• The hassle and expense of owning or renting an RV?
• Storing your boards etc. at home or in a storage unit, and then hauling them back and forth?
• Staying in a hot, cramped RV or tent while the wind bounces you around all night, never being able to properly bathe, cook, or rest?
Would you rather:
• Have BBQs and parties with your friends on your property while looking out over the river?
• Crawl into bed in a quiet, air-conditioned room after taking a nice warm shower?
• Store your gear in a spacious garage and have it always here and ready to go?

Namoo I am extremely interested.
If we are 2, but extremely compatible on how we see things for this investment home.
But would be even more in if we are 4, extremely serious persons, good communications, considerate and same as above on how we see things for the future with this investment home.
4 offer lots of disadvantages, but I really like the advantages. Lower cost, if someone drop out easier to buy part for the 3 others, and if it turns out to be a very bad choice/investment, well lost are not that bad.
150-300 each group is not bad at all. First 5 years you save everything you make out of this investment home to build a fund in case need to re buy someones part, future furniture replacement, bad renters destroyed whatever etc...
Then the house pay for itself.
As long as there are clear guidelines, no super cheap persons in the group, but serious people I am in.

Sleeping two days in hotel at the Dalles cost me $150 each night without taxes.... This is a month in a house in Rufus... Lots of different options to make money out of it.

John Schmidt here. I’m the guy that developed the project. I figured I’d chime in with some thoughts:
- If you decide to pull the trigger I could help coordinate everything, including setting up the entity through which you’d take title to the property (probably a Limited Liability Company – LLC), overseeing construction, permitting, landscaping, etc. I’d be able to help manage / maintain the house after you took possession too, perhaps in exchange for the right to show it to other potential buyers.
- Regarding the LLC structure, you’d probably want to just put together an Operating Agreement where each member has shares that can be bought and sold relatively easily, as well as provisions for maintenance, rental policies, etc. I could find some examples from which you could pick and choose the provisions you like rather than reinvent the wheel.
- I know a gal in The Dalles that has a property management / rental agency. I asked her about the rental market and she had some positive things to say. I could forward you the email. Also there are lots of wind farm and power project workers in the area that have generous stipends for rent, and need to rent for months at a time. I think you might be surprised at home much you could get in the off season.
- I have a tree nursery so I’d be able to get trees/shrubs cheap and set the place up with a really nice landscape.
- I did similar posts on pskite.com and nwkite.com and got a lot of interest, so that could be another place to look for partners. Also I have over 380 followers on the Gorge Vista facebook page and I could do a post on there to find people too. It might make the most sense to just grab a few fellow Canadians though, not least to make carpooling convenient…

What Nanmoo - you expected them to provide towels when you visit?
They are right about the folks renting for wind-turbine maintenance and assembly, but then again, they are wind-turbine maintenance and assembly folks with a lot of money and nothing much to do in evenings, kind of like in the oil patch - snort, chug!
