Where to recycle carbon fiber?

Post by winddude »

Anyone know if there's anyplace that recycles carbon fiber around victoria? I have a few old broken booms, and masts I'm trying to clean up.

Landfill - nearest place is in South Carolina and they don't take from consumers (unless you've got 15 tonnes of scrap booms!) Please do not burn under any circumstance. Unfortunate downside to our industry now that only 3 places worldwide recycle cured carbon composite (US, UK, France.)

Wind duder, Windsurfish has a friend that is making paddles and he uses some
Carbon rings etc. Maybe contact him. Shame to throw away carbon.

Make board or kayak racks? Padded just drill holes in wall studs and insert or bolt through for roof racks
Wish less, sail more!!

the mast are all order sdm so those would be some thick paddles even thick racks. but the boom might make 2 great kiddy paddles or 1 adult paddle if the arms can be joined.
