Calling the road a good 6.5/10. The old floaty soft sections of years past are gone and some big rocks are poking through the whole route. Its down to the hard pan where grading isn't doing much anymore and requires a new layer of road surface. The upside is it's not very dusty.
big improvement over last weekend, but amazing how quickly it degrades, felt much better on the way in saturday morning then the way out on sunday night

Exactly! And this without any heavy traffic like logging trucks. North Shore road along the Cow lake held up and remained unusually smooth even yesterday though. But the bottom section went from pretty good with the usual rough patches better than normal to pretty crappy everywhere. About 55 minutes from camp to Youbou.
The road is pretty bad after you pass Cowichan Lake until the junction going either to Port or Nitinaht. It's better than a week and a half ago, but still bad.
