Group Log page selection

Post by more force 4 »

Hey Dave, is there a way to jump to a particular page in the group log? Maybe I'm just being stupid. I was curious what dates people first started to windsurf Nitinat last year. I can see from the group stats there were 4 windsurf days there in March, and 8 in April (but few kiting), and I wanted to check out the specifics (and of course 1 in February from Bobson and me). I'm surprised at the 4 days in March. But it would be a real chore to page there one page at a time.

Well first of all I think you are talking about group stats page, am I correct?

Second. For now the shortest most detailed answer is "no there is no such way".

What exactly would you like to see there? To been able to see group log on a month by month basis?

If you mean the group sailing log entries, then no as well on that. There are so many pages now. You can narrow it down using the start number on the end of this address:
http://www.bigwavedave.ca/phpBB2/sailin ... start=1290

and then it shows you the pages at the bottom (32, 33, 34....48, 49, 50)

Is it possible to bookmark a particular month or quarter of a year so from the group summary log you can access from the month (in the table) in question? Just a thought, sounds like more work I guess

Yeah, I meant the group sailing log, not the stats - which is all on the one page, no? The log though if you want to go to about page 30.....

In other words you'd like to see selection by year/month on the group log?

No, no, RD, i think the group stats page is fine the way it is. I was wanting to re-read other people's logs from a year ago. I've just been playing with changing the final number in the group log as BWD showed - bigger the number, the earlier date the session, if a little unpredictable.

I also noticed that the Sailing Log is not able to be searched when using the search function (it's not included in list of folders). Can it be added? This way you could search for a specific month and/or location.

I can't answer that question right away - I have to take a look at PhpBB search engine. And the reason that it's not appear in the list of forums - is that because it's not a forum. It has completely different database structure, and php modules, it just closely integrated into PhpBB infrastructure.

But if you mean lookup by calendar, that's sertainly can be done. I'm not sure when, though.
