I see someone is kiting off of Dallas, the brave sole.

Not that I would know much, but Elk lake looks fantastic right now. Steady North wind, with 200 meter off the north beach looking particularly strong. The waves there are about 1 – 2 feet high, steep pitch but very close frequency. Don’t know if this helps but it looked good.

Cheers

What a great idea. I look forward to seeing you out on that pond.

Better yet let me know when you're going out so I can take a video and post it on YouTube...under "compete morons". Sure its not your first time in that category.

it was an odd day at Elk Lake and this place is usually only frequented by very early learners but thanks for the update GP, if you see conditions like this near/at the usual ocean sailing sites we all appreciate the onsitereports (OSR) as not every spot has a cam 8)

Yep thanks GP. The onsite reports are appreciated, just ignore the negative posts. On Friday when I drove by Elk it was sailable and I should have stopped instead of driving out west. I'm hoping to get a few longboard days in at Elk Lake this summer with my SUP.

I want to learn longboard handstands this summer at Elk. I saw one in The Windsurfing Movie and it was just sick!

I am proud to say I learned to windsurf on Elk Lake. Initially spent a lot of time caught in the lilly pads before the rowing club took over that end of the lake. Back in the late 70's early 80's it was the place. Lots of freestyle longboard sailing. Still the best warm water sailing spot in Victoria in the summer.

Spelling, now really Colin, how about grammar

Post by Geoffy »

If one's going to critique spelling, then one should get the difference between "your" and "you're."

Ah Dave - if we had stopped at Elk Lake we would have always wondered if it happened out West - damn we should have stopped, a few less holes in my board also, methinks.

It's now seriously windy (WNW) out here in Satellite Channel - so Pat Bay will be good, but a very low tide. Looks like it'll stay around, time to go play on ferry wakes!
We windsurf - life must be good!

Flew low over Lake Cowichan today…looked like perfect conditions. Nice tight chop could have cut through the top of waves without dropping in…unless you wanted to.

As for Colin...I'm sure he carries a dictionary in his purse.
