Kite/Windsurf Videos for Doldrums

Post by ~~~~~4j~~ »

Please add links to your favourite videos to help maintain the sanity of the wind community during periods of no wind.

I think this one was posted a few months back.

Bru's over Gnus. South Africa windsurf vacation. Interesting videography, no dialogue (just music), beautiful places, talented sailors.

3 minutes of spinny tricks. May make you dizzy.

Mauiwindsurfing.net has this Hookipa video

I found this 20 minute tour of the quatro/goya factory interesting. The board construction discussion starts around the 9 min mark. http://video.mpora.com/ep/DiVhB5L6r/

That vid has a cool little bail section halfway through, more windsurfing videos should have that. It's one of those sports where you have to commit to the lip, and the margin of error is small, I always wonder what happens and what it looks like when you are on the wrong side of that margin. It doesn't look so fun.

With Kus and DougWick sailing big old race boards, Exocet comes out with a pretty interesting 30 knot longboard for those light and moderate days:

just to be sure, my sailing the One Design is purely exploratory during the current doldrums, I don't find it all that exciting nor am I interested in racing.....or packing it around. The paddling and teaching aspect is more up my alley with that board  and if anyone who IS keen on the racing aspect would like to borrow, use, teach with it, you are more than welcome

Some nasty crashes in West Aus. Warning: cat lovers may find this disturbing (start video at 1:02).
