It was a fun race. It was a short and painful all out 10 minute sprint though. Half the group was bwd members so that was good. Next time it would be good to see more surfboard sup's in the race.

with the handicap system in place it is tough on the guys with big fast boards, yesterdays race was won by a woman on a surfboard. that was a good time, for 2 bucks you cant beat it! im going to train a bit for the next one. 8)

Nice! so there is a handicap system for short boards? I'm coming out to the next one for sure. Don't be a wuss BWD and let's go Pocket rocket to pocket rocket with a board swap halfway.

Do people wear wetsuits? I jumped in yesterday no upper seal/hood on my mutant and it was damn cold, I could see no wetsuit being an issue.

8 racers total, 5 displacement hulls, 3 surf boards. 5 of us were kiters \ windsurfers.

They gave the surf boards a head start, perhaps too much of a lead, as all three surf boards took the top 3 places. Coincidentally, all three top finishers were also wearing shortie wetsuits. No one fell in all day.

Lysanne won the race and donated her winnings to Power to Be.

Yanick and Ocean River Sports put on a fun event and we all went for a group paddle in the inner harbor afterwards.

Hope to see a few more people at the next event.

most just trunked it but in the end nobody fell in. i guess it just depends if you think you will swim or not (or someone could push you). 8)
nice to meet you there OT!

Hope to see all those with SUP's out tomorrow.

Last time the race took no time at all, we then did a group paddle which was a good time.
