Wahoooo!, best session for a long time. Got out right at 11:11, thought about my dad's 5 years in the RAF and my grandfathers in the WWI trenches. IV weather station accurate? I was just nicely powered most of the time, came in OP but just manageable when the station record shows 25 knots. Seems like a lot for a 7.0 Started to rig small stuff then noticed it was backing off, so finished up still on the big gear. 8) 8) Now that's what it's supposed to be like. Fully lit up on the 5.5/94L, coulda been on a 4.7 for the first 45min, then it backed off to perfect 5.5/carve for another hour. Nice ramps on the way out and big swells on the outside. More please.

Glad we hit it early. Maybe getting a little tired of sailing my big stuff but it was still fun. Some okay wave rides but the wind was pretty light inside. Felt bad for the late comers from Victoria.
When the wind dropped Dunkinguy and I surfed the remaining waves that were rolling in. The best East Coast surfing I have ever done. Thanks for the ride and the loan of the surf board brah!

Woke up to big wind in Tofino. Wolfed down some tasty quiche and hit LB with Vadardog and Dunkinguy. Initial conditions were intense but seemed sailable, so we all launched within a few minutes of scoping the scene. It quickly became apparent that the conditions were more serious than we'd anticipated. The large, short period waves were breaking randomly with dumb luck trumping skill in the race to make it out any real distance off the beach. First time I didnt get skunked at IV. Did get teased all day though.
Showed up to 8m wind, then died to 15m, then nothing, then 15, then 12, then 15 :roll: . This trend went on for a while. Got out on the water early and did a few reaches but kept losing ground :? . Big crowd showed up later. Got a solid 1/2hour of 20 kn and tried a few front rolls(landed the third one! :P ). Wind died after that and never came back. Not nearly as forecast...but a day on the water is better than one on land :wink:

it was pretty up and down but that just made for some nice rests. warm, even sunny at times. sea lions were a bit friendly today, one took a real shine to chris.. watched another leap for ralphs leg! the waves towards the end shaped up for some nice jumps and loops. i was demoing doc's old board today so figured perfect time to try some switch stance air flakas. didnt stick any but wow that board can take a beating. :wink:

Fun session! Really up and down at first and hard to stay upwind. It finally filled in and steadied out around 1pm. Surprisingly big waves for the amount of wind. Some fun loops and wave rides. TheLaw getting lots of great rides and taking out a few people that were in his way. DWD with some sweet shuvit into unintentional forward attempts. Mattdog tearing apart the swell as we left. Great turnout, lots of happy people at the end of the day. More just like that please. Thanks for the beer GWind.

Marathon session which was slow to build. Great waves...got some great rides on the carve.......big crowd, thanks for the beer gwind.....kinda tired after 3 days....super tuesday beckons :twisted: Downwind dave says a sealion jumped over the back of my board.......didn't even see it. Perfect 6.0 CB. :) Eastside and Adrian and a guest kiter from Squamish shared the wind. One nice launch on a rogue ramp into a lull gave me ~8' to fall on my back. Tomorrow?

Everyone showed up except the wind. Musta been a dozen cars in the parking lot and at least that many boards on the water, all windsurfers since the kiters launch in boundary bay.

Redeemed the day :D bit OP for a while so I finally rigged 4.7 for smoother wave riding, what a diff the Kaos makes but it kicked down again so I went back, died shortly thereafter. Birdman was making the break look pretty mouse, slashing it up from top to bottom when there were a few good ones. What's On and SuperDave rippin' inshore. Soup & Muffin Wagon feature was awesome, thx Jelly 8) suck on that GWIND, ha!
