After a brief kiteboarding lesson and body dragging quickly through the windsurfing zone, Rob encouraged me to jump on the windsurfer for a quick session.
It felt very comfy, and really just went for a ride (a couple of tacks) to remind myself that I can still feel confident on the water doing something. It's difficult to be a total beginner again, and have to go through a very dangerous learning curve.
Waterstarting was easy, and the wind was just perfect for planing for me.

Dunkingirl and I arrived late as usual. Have to figure out that packing thing a bit better. DWD was already spent, so I re-energized him for about 40 minutes until the wind started to back off. Dunkingirl had good runs on my gear and then DWDs as the wind shut off. Off to fish for smiley for the next three days; then wind on Wednesday pm. Great anniversary day.

Drove up in morning arrived at 10:30, on the lake by 11:15. Sailed the Futura and Gator 7.0m all day. Such a nice set up. Kicked up in the afternoon to around 20kts.....fun full powered sailing. Sailed up to Knob point a few times trying to dial in my jibes...getting close. Called it at 5pm as my hands were feeling raw and body was getting tired. All day in board shorts and rashy.....soooo NICE!!!

made a nice overnight trip with no family for a change. tried a few dozen spocks. quit a bit early to child mind so that dunkinguy could get out on my stuff; got paid a nice cold beer. slept out on the beach for awesome stargazing.. stayed reasonably dry under my sail!

RD talked me into a Hatchery session before heading for the ferry. Good call. No crowds, just me, RD and cute Rob at first. Nice mellow session with a few good ramps and some mini swell. Body really sore: 15 out of 16 days sailed, two showers, 32 mexican meals and one XL Visa bill. Great having so many good friends there this time...hopefully the coast+swell lines up better next time.

Arrived to sandblasting conditions at Flo. Rigged the 4, was a bit light at first but then filled in for screaming down the line of smallish but fun waves. Great starting wave sesh for Johnnyman and the others. Occasional sets of shoulder to head high made for some good bashing off the lip. Van completely filled with sand already. Anyone got a sandbox shovel?

Biggest kite I had was the 12M, a little underpowered, but I still went for it.
AWSOME!!!! I couldnt stay upwind very well, but I was riding WAVES!!!!
Nice smooth long period waves. A surreal experience. Wind died down pretty quick but I LOVED IT!

Caught the 5:15 am from Twawassen and made it to the lake at 10am. The road is brutal. Sailed with George on the big gear and finally got on my new Hi-Fly at about 3pm. Nice ride. Fast and lively. Lots of familiar faces i the campground.

Waited for the evening push and was rewarded big time. Huge, rolling swell made for concrete-smooth faces to slash, carve, and jump. Easily one of the best Gorge days ever for swell for me. OP'd on the 4.7 made forwards suicidal, but I managed to nail one good backie. Time to go home. My boards took a worse beating than my body so I'm stoked to arrive home healthy. Day nine in a row and it seemed like another long drive for weak conditions but it finally cranked at 6:00. I held onto the 5.0 as long as I could in stellar big gorge swell. All forwards went down hard on my back for some reason but I had some good back loops - all too much or too little but always fun. Kick ass last day of a great trip - thanks boys and girls - let's do it again next year but with some Coast thrown in!

Out in the shipping lane was about 14-16 knts (1/3rd the way to the USA), but inside Otter point to Sheringham Pt. line was brutally light. The inside wind picked up for a brief 1/2 hour session on the inside about 5 - 5:30pm ish). Still very very light but still enjoyed my time with mother nature.
