Tried the 7.0 but wasn't quite enough. 9.0 was great. A couple of tide lines with very dense weeds so either sailed inside or outside the weed line to avoid masive fin fouls.

Very pleasant morning in hot sun and shortie. Gotta get that weed fin tuttle cut down, especially if these weeds continue.

Teaching early in the day. Wind started howling so I took out the 2010 rise for a go.

A little twitchy at first. Looping it without even meaning to... ... but after I got the feel for it, she was a lot of fun.

Big airs and nice quick loops 8)

    Really fun kite to ride.

Demo'd an RRD 115 twinzer; session saver, was planing while others were bobbing and wobbling. Did a top five ever jibe on it in a smooth spot near the downwind beach - booms came back to my hands on the flip and I planed out as fast as i went in. Easily uphauled the 7.0 on it and it was still happy with 5.8, not about to pay full retail price though! A few on the Style when the wind was up. So weird to have to work to stay downwind!

The heat has slightly abated, and a fine session (well, two, as the wind shut off for an hour). Suprisingly good jumping with the 6.0/85L combo. The Ezzy's are lighter than before. Nice BBQ with team Wavecamp 2010, then a trip to a bivi site in the Wind river area that was littered with animal fur and bones - less than peaceful - headed back to hood instead of waking up in a soup pot. Hope MF4 and family had a good sleep & found their way back this AM.

Flattest I've seen the lake, up and down but managed to make the 5.3 work the whole time. Tried Wdoc's new freestyle skate, that thing is crazy, no back foot pressure or the nipple sized fin let's go completely and you are planing sideways. Neat! Need to try it in more wind.

The wind shut completely off around 6 and caught out, KC7's decided to head to the potlatch it town. How was it?

Despite the decor, Siam Thai has nothing on Zap Thai, it's just too bad Zap closes at 9pm. :-(

Morning - Went out with the Futura 144 and 9.0. Combination of Weeds & underpowered at first made it hard to plane efficiently so went back to the house and got the Go200 with a 56cm weed fin. Wind had picked up by the time I got back so it was a bit of a workout but still lots of fun.

Went up with winddoc and nanmoo and arrived just before 1pm to find nice 4.7 conditions. Sailed that for about 40 min. then the clouds moved in and the wind backed off to ~5.5-able and was up and down a few times. Winddoc let me use his Goya 95 when the wind dropped which saved the rest of the session for me - thanks doc and thanks for the ride. :) We drove up on the Youbou side and it was in surprisingly good shape all the way to the lake. 8)

Wow what a day. The wind just kept building. The 8 was far too big at the end and I have the bruises to prove it. Weird wind today. More north than usual and not much wind hole. Mind you the extra sail size sure helped. For those who started smaller, the wind picked up and they were just right.

There were some big swells and a wind funnel near the shore. Almost got a tube ride in. Just ask Strang.

Good jibe practice though very gusty today. As the locals say - "gnarly, had to be up to it "

Trip wouldn't be complete w/out salt/sand blast @jetty :D didn't heed Ed's advice to rig 5.3 but went w/ the dogmaster's rush hour prediction. Bit lite @first for sure but punching out pretty easy today. 2 rinses as gusts didn't arrive, fun times & saved swims on both. As things heated up, short evening window today but big waves, 8' swell kept me out, 7 went to 12secs. Fun rides, then OP. 3hr session if you count the hike :x Rinsed, drove til 4am, caught 1st boat home. Sun :P

After the morning near-kitemare  had a very short underpowered session. Missed the 4.5 or better conditions of the morning. Best runs were on Chris' twin-fin big waveboard and new 6.0 Wave Panther. Very crisp feeling!

The Windsurfishes had me convinced to go to Cape Sebastian with them early morning, but first I asked if there was a kite lesson available; there was, so I was doing something else challenging. Excellent learning venue, tons of gear, helmets with radios, jetskis with sleds, very experienced instructors, etc etc.

The wind started at 18 gusting 25 knots and I was on a 7 m kite. Rusty kite flying skills and I was put through a few downwind and upwind body dragging routines. Ready for the board and the wind ... (more)
