:D :D :D :D :D Wow that was fun! From watching a movie on the couch and eating pizza to sailing in 15 mins. Stopped movie to check CB cam and it looked good. So went to the beach and rigged as fast as I could, after first hesitating for 2 mins while talking to some angry flyfishermen and watching the darkness approach. Could have been 4.2 for the first 20 mins then it settled down to very comfortable on flattened 4.6. Flat water when I went out and 4 footers within 5min. What a treat! 8) Stayed at the ... (more)

What Kus said ++, On JP 68L Wave and 3.7 Naish Force the whole time Never needed more or less and it was cranking on the outside, well over 35 kts. You gals are brutes hanging onto big sails. Great waves, and mostly filled in to beach. Real waves?? at Gordons?? Yup!! Please god, more! (no Christian offense meant.) Man I feel great - still!

:D :D :D WOW!! That was fun. Big wind at Gordo's that just kept coming  Mega powered on the 4.2. Could've been on a 3.7 on the outside.

Landed some nice big jumps today. Gotta love the extra loft you get on the big wind days. Some nice sets on the inside at the end.

Lots of talent out there today - kiters floating some HUGE jumps. Looks fun 8)

Excellent encouragement from the peanut gallery today and some good snacks too. Thanks.

got rid of 4.7 pretty quickly, mostly 4.2- outside, couldda used a 3.7 late, no way it was just gusting 32 knots out there  then waves got confused so grabbed the flat 4.7 for Xtra juice & joined the gang riding smaller sets in which steadily got bigger & more regular. Nevr seen a nice Gordo shorebreak  25kn+ on the beach late. What a day!! Landed 4 backies on the board, bitter sweet to fall in anyway, one bad into boom splatter :x Lots B&W, Udder

:D :D :D Started out early on the 4.7 and had a smooth ride then it got WINDY. Switched to the 4.2 and was powered to ridiculously overpowered at times. Would have liked Jeff's new JP wave board today. Fun times!!!

Glad I didn't go fly a kite.

Nice to see Sandy Beach giving the lighter side a go today.

Thanks Rocdoc and Kus for the boom loan...always check gear 3 times before leaving home.

Had to swim out to the kelp bed to get going but after that it was a nice summer like day with the odd good swell. As Keen and Fish stated it was like a totally different spot. Mostly sailed between clover and finlayson point could have sailed ogden to trial island with this wind direction. With the direction of wind the flood made no difference staying upwind.

Used the 6 meter today and was waaaaaaaay over powered at times and then not so much. It was a bit of a bucking bronco ride but tons of fun and very good to be back on the water. Added a hood, thicker booties and gloves and had a marvelous time out there. Got some jumps that I just got launched waaaaaaaaahooooooooooo

like Fish said it was a new place to sail. mostly the swells were mixed up and choppy but there were the odd ones that were big and steep. looked like Gordons was the place to be but I still had a great (somewhat lonely) session and managed to keep my 'points' by getting home for in time for dinner!

Sad but its been 272 days since my last sailing entry (Aug 29 / 2008). No wonder I suck. And my first 2009 entry is a slogfest then a SUP. Wind turned south...got up to 10 so I took out the 8.5M and FreeRace, got all the way across the lake and then the wind switched North and then died. So I did some SUP'ing around the boats in the Killer Cove marina and in front of the hotel. Super warm and sunny. Better luck tomorrow.

Third day in a row! :) Wind picked up earlier than predicted and I got lucky with a nice sesh before it dropped off. Lots of big grabbed front rolls, mostly landed too :P . A few kiteloop backrolls for good measure. Getting very comfortable on the 11m. Did knock the wind out of myself on and unintentional kiteloop front roll that got big fast. Not fun kiting to shore not breathing. :?

:D Joined Pastadude on my 5.5 but was OP so I came in and switched to the 4.7 after 10 min. The wind was perfect for that so I stayed outside most of the time, and also because inside was choppy but smooth farther out with some nice little ramps to hit straight on for jumps. Pretty fun day til later when the flood tide got too strong. Mark B. and Roger were the other two WS. This makes 4 out of the last 5 days for me. 8)

Could have worked the 11m but had so much fun on the big kite yesterday I tried it again 8) . Big grabbing front rolls nailed on the big kite, just gotta perfect it on the smaller ones now. Kited all the way to the end of the breakwater and heard a plane so I headed back quick. A lot of ground covered and a lot of big airs today 8)
