OOOuuuhyeaaaahhh. Didn't think could have that much fun w/barndoor 6.9; great Cattle sesh, not cold beyond fingertips first hr. Really kicked in @230 45 minutes, couldda been on a 5.4. Lotsa heli tacks (made 3), easy duckgybes & tacks today, nice herogybe conditions inshore; sailor checked on me after wouldbe nosedive forward: "r u alright?" "Why, gotta beer for me?" Otherwise couldn't be better, sun our, Baker out, no boats, sailors, logs to dodge. :P

1st run best, instantly fully powered in straps, "yee - ha, classic session" but then sailed into hole, from then on teasing wind - just enough to plane in gusts. Strong downwind current made for upwind slogs, then downwind planing runs. Warm 5 degrees, 37 kmph max speed 21 km sailed. Made a couple of descent tacks, grabbed the uphaul a few other times. No planing gybes. Helped Larry launch his kite for body drags brrrrrrrr.

Great cruise, sun, 8 degrees, Mt Baker awesome, could only plane pumping on broad reach at first, but a few runs in both straps made it worthwhile. Wind got better and better at end, barely fully powered a part of a few runs. Better at flare jibes and almost a couple of planing (needed more wind!) since Dasher DVD. Made a few schlog tacks. 34 kmph max, 19 km sailed.

Well Bobson, someone had to check, better than wonderin' if it was sailable all friggin' day! Figured faster way to rig 6.9, man that thing's BIG! I had forgotten. Some helitack attempts (made 1), shin deep tacks, kinda fun but no gybes trying to stay upwind, ahh, upbreeze. Needed a formula board though, if New Year's Day is like this that'll be a hit! 8)

:D Got to IV at 12:45, rigged up and on the water by 1pm. Sailed out to south end of James Island planing. Unbelieveably smooth and fast with the new gear. Harness lines were a bit short so arm got quite tired when I wasn't hooked in and was pumping!! Sail pulls solid and board planes up quick and the 70cm fin was nice to push against. Went for hour and a half and got tired very quickly pumping that big fella!! Need new footstraps from Santa!! Super smooth!! Can't wait for Nitnat or a longer cruise. Sorry J ... (more)

It started as a mellow, but pretty nice session. I had a couple of good jumps, unhooked, fully controlled, with good altitude, VERY nice landing, and then somebody hit the switch. Being on 75l board in no wind doesn't help, therefore I had a nice 30 min swim back.

All and all not bad. 30 min sailing + 30 min swimming = 1 hour of good exercise

God bless all those people who didn't call 911 :D

Wind was on and off. Sometimes from the west (not good) and sometimes from the South west (good). Windsurfing was okay, nice to be up and planing after two months. I am still putting together my winter wear.

Wreckless Rich and I had a good lunch on the beach after.

    Beautiful Sunny Day!

Windy was preaty dirty. Underpowered a lot of the time. Then waves of strong wind would come through. Good to see a bunch of guys down there. Make sure you have your spreader bar attached real tight! I had one side unhook then soon after the other side clip bent and my spreader bar completely detached. Luckly I was able to pull the safety. Got one leg hog tied on the swim in with 30 meters of line and spent 30 minutes untangling it off my leg.

Yup finally got over the mental barrier of trying a forward! Didn't succeed of course. Tried five times but I kept flying out of the footstraps and doin' one without my gear. Feels great to have tried and can't wait for next time. Lots of good back loop attempts too. Getting around to plant the nose in the water almost every time. Awesome day start to finish!

Just two runs, but 1st was marathon survival. OK on run out, nicely controlled, fell jibe, spent 20 min trying to waterstart again. Totally overpowered, catapault or rig just torn from hands, over and over! SHould have tightened outhaul (or better rigged the 'new' 4.0!). Finally wind dropped a little, sailed back, arms shot. Rested 25 min and tried again with outhaul on. Much better but arms too tired to stay out long. Warm, sunny! Waves were pretty small for windspeed - blowing spray rattled the we ... (more)

A breakthru day :D trying forwards :!: Perfect conditions. Steep head-on chop, steady wind, warm. Tom started off the stoke (thanks Tom!), which got Bean, Chris, and I feeling the peer pressure. Gave 4 good attempts. 3rd time got totally around in the waterstart position, but board came off at the end. What a rush. Maybe need to pull up that back leg some more. Peer pressure rules. Can't wait to try these at Columbia.

I wouldn't call it a go, Chris. Just one pretty lame attempt in the beginning of the session. Landed side wise, totally under rotated, kinda like a self initiated catapult. It looks like I have to nail my jumps first

Anyway, new sails are awesome! When things are getting crazy I still can jibe, they don't jerk, pull or make me uncomfortable in any other way! Thanks BWD!

The wind didn't fill in till 1:30 and looked lighter than it actually was. I was very powered up for the first hour, took a break and it mellowed a bit when I got back out. The break was pretty small inside and 3-5 ft. outside. Ended my session with a sprained ankle when I did a jump and my front foot came out of the strap, landing awkwardly on one foot. :(

I felt pretty out of shape after not sailing for a month but had fun up to the final couple of minutes anyway.

    New sail works great.

And I scored sess # 400 in this sailing log! I deserve it. I created it after all!

Whole day spent windsurfing - am chasing wind, then 11 till 3 on the water. Started 30% time planing, then got to 80% for a while with Bobson there, then back to about 50%. 2 degrees rising to 6 or 8. Great winter cruising, sailed 42 km, max speed 36 kmph. Dasher's 12 Step Jibe DVD helping lots, even on flare jibes! Couldn't keep up with Bobson's Formula gear!

Epic day at a newly inaugurated spot in the lee of a long breakwater. Wind angle has to be perfect. A number of records for me. Fastest ride, and possible highest jump. Discovered a new way of jumping to get more air by riding overpowered with bar fully sheeted out. After 4 hours went into overdrive mode where brain stops noticing muscles' fatigue. :D

Wrong again. Got in 2 nice runs before the wind quit. Went from 19 - 12ish in about 15 min.

Mattdog, Snapper & I decided to try a new location as wind was quite west. First went out for a very overpowered downwind run on the 16M. Insane gusts. Got a ride back & rode butter smooth water for over 3 hrs. The 12M was a much better choice. Wind was up & down but tons of fun. And of course Sunshine! I love it when Env. Canada is wrong.
