Day trip to the lake with Mr. Keen. Arrived at 11:45 to clearing skies and 10kts of breeze. Rigged up the 7.0m and brought out the basically brand new 133 litre Futura for it's maiden voyage. First run, boom too high and footstraps too tight....I guess I was a little too excited to get out on the water. Came back in, did walk of shame and fixed what was wrong. :D Sailed alone for 30 or 40 min. nicely powered on the 4.7 then the wind backed off and the chop got bad. Kinda marginal for a while and then later on it kicked in to very solid 4.7 wind and just as everyone was leaving the chop settled down and the swells got chest high with some great jumping ramps about 1/2 mile out. Had a great time doing long floaty jumps where you land at full speed. The last 1 1/2 hrs. made the day for me. :D

Two sessions at the Hatchery today. The first from 8-11am until it got too crowded. 3.7 with ok swell but no ramps. Then the waitboarding session with Jose and Kus at Dougs. Then return to the Hatch at 6:30pm with Kus for a great 1.5hr session with no crowds. Good ramps and swell...good first day.

kinda gusty and a little overpowered on the outside, but still tons of fun.
Spent almost as much time riding as chasing the board :roll: . Cant quite deal with the chop when im fully powered up. Crashed the kite and had trouble launching it a couple times, but upwinded all the way back after a few big drifts downwind!!! Really confident upwinding, no walk of shame today! :D

I was the wind dummy, and went out first. Thought i was gonna et 1 or 2 reaches in before walking back up the beach, cuz i was on a wake board and it was light. Was i ever wrong! Wind was quite undecided. Started out SW, then went due S, then switched to WSW!
A little light close to shore, fully powered out a ways. I really like the 15M yarga! :D I tried jumping with it for the first time and it loves the air! Nice floaty big airs(15'+ on a couple :o) with smooth landings. Didnt feel over powered even with the big airtime. Still need to work on the landings though, they were soft but I dumped the kite 2 times.

Perfect conditions on the webcam so grabbed the go-to gear and headed to IV. Arrived to JL rigging up and it looked fantastic. I was on the water within 10mins and sailed down to the Native reserve for a couple speed runs behind the spit. Quite lumpy on the outside and in the channel between spit and James Island. WOW!! Wild and crazy ..... great to have BA drop in. Sailed with passion and joy til the unthinkable happened in a moment of recklessness ....... I blew out the bottom panel of the beloved 4.2!! I felt like I'd lost a limb!! This was not just the X-Ply ...... I took stitches and material out! Lucky I'm tougher than my sail!
