Wild and crazy ..... great to have BA drop in. Sailed with passion and joy til the unthinkable happened in a moment of recklessness ....... I blew out the bottom panel of the beloved 4.2!! I felt like I'd lost a limb!! This was not just the X-Ply ...... I took stitches and material out! Lucky I'm tougher than my sail!

Nursing some barnicle foot injuries I stopped by cook to see what was up. A lot of kites were up so I overcame the pain and got my gear. Powered up for about 20 mins or so, but kept loosing the board... :?

Dont quite have the wave riding down yet. Still good fun. Dropped the kite 100 feet from shore when I lost the wind, swam it in.

Got to the lake later than planned and was surprised to find a flat glassy lake with would-be sailors milling around. The morning wind had shut down at 1 pm with the arrival of a light cloud cover ......BUT luck was with me and within 15 mins of arrival the wind came full on in a matter of minutes. Ended up having a nice late afternoon sail on an already rigged 4.5.

Supposed to be windier. Some planing runs but then a slogfest. Good for light wind waterstart practice. Went out to Rowena at 5:00 pm but no real wind there either so just had some cold ones. This was my boys's (Scotty age 9, and Ian age 11) first Gorge trip with Dad without Mom. Had a blas, slept crammed in the back of the pick-upt. Epic camping and cliff diving. Weather was awesome. Also, there is great skimboarding out on the edge of the kite sand bar at the Event site!

Was already 15+knot when I woke up at 9:30. Fog Bank!

Went out for a 10AM sesh on the 12 before it really started blowing, had the lake almost to myself! Filled in really well within half an hour so I took out the 9m again. Tried doing lots of smaller jumps today with more landings involved. Still crashing on the big ones though. Had the leading edge valve open 2 times on big jumps, almost as much swimming as kiting today :? Very sore from a couple of huge crashes yesterday

:D EC nailed the forecast with the gale warning instead of jinxing it for a change. Today started out with nice 4.7 - 4.2 wind and smooth chop-free swells to make some of the best conditions there this season. After about an hour had to rig down to a 4.0 and later on I was wishing I had a 3.2 and a 65 litre board! The strongest wind seemed to come in with the fog later on.

RD I hope that ankle heals up in time for the ORE. trip.
