Everyone showed up except the wind. Musta been a dozen cars in the parking lot and at least that many boards on the water, all windsurfers since the kiters launch in boundary bay.

Wind was thinking about turning on all morning but the driving rain won out and it fizzled around noon. Brrr cold.

Big day.....big wind and got windier. Pretty happy I survived, made most of my jibes and had some great wave rides. Wacked my head once and almost nutted myself. Had a helmet, maybe I need a jock strap and cup? Not much intentional jumping as I was happy to stay on the water. Should have been on the 3.7 but was ok with my small fin and totally depowered sail. First time on new 4.2, worked great. Gusting to 48 knots at Chrome Island so who knows how windy it was out there.  Saw Mattdog ... (more)

Got the best of it I think. Up and down in a Willows SE-ey kind of way, wind kept lulling when I wanted to jibe, but some good rides including a little OP and over-finned tailwalking. Muscles are gone, its been too long! Johnnyman and RocDoc out, also guy with the dealy-bopper kayak helmet. 8 degrees.

Thought I'd missed it, rigged anyway and glad I did. Mostly powered up on the 5.8 till the sun went down and the kites floundered at clover point. Glad I didn't do "just one more run" for the tenth time. The wind might have been better earlier on but I was plenty happy with the wind I got. Next Kook day May?

Would have been better if there had been absolutely no wind so I couldn't get off the beach. I figured it was windy way out and I only had to get there. It took about 10 minutes and 5 aborted attempts but I was on my doomed way. I was a bit behind Dave S. as we hullaed our way out. I gave up out by the lighthouse as it wasn't getting any better, but he kept going, lemming like. I didn't want to tempt the fickle currents of fate.

Unfortunately, it was very choppy till later on when the wind was coming down. Nice and sunny altho' a little cool. Had a 10 min. session on Doc's evo.

    flat with ripples
1.00 hours Rush air foil trainer kite 2.5 M
Land flying at Tulista while the kids played at the playground.

Addicted to flying both the trainer kites. Haven't been in the water since Nitinat (early Sept) but trying to gain more kite feel. 3-4 times per week (peninsula locations) since early October.

Enjoying harnessing the wind with figure eights to create apparent wind. Practicing the kiteboarding stance, and learning more about the wind window and various conditions.

Looking forward to body dragging in the water again in the future.

A cold grey day for sailing in Alberta. Good wind though. A rather stokeless session for me. It started nuking near the end of the session and I couldn't keep my hands warm, so I left. Hoping for more before the season ends.

Another WNW.... Gusty. Side Shore. Went down to the beach about 9:30 to check conditions and almost didn't gear up due to a prolonged lull. Things picked up about 20 minutes later and I was on the water just after ten. Up and down, schlogging in long lulls, then powered up to OP. Great day though despite the wonky wind... got nice and warm in the sun, and nobody else out on the water, snow on some of the mountains across the straight and on Arrowsmith.

Not much debris this time so I could sail through ma ... (more)
