Another swell swell session at RB. I spent more time with playing with the Cloverfield monsters to get used to that level of turbulence. BWD, RuppD, MrNS were rippin' it out in the bigs while I tried to survive and not crash. Jon, Matt, and RobC were making their forays out there too. Still amazed at how messy and bumpy it is beyond Clover. Getting more used to the downhill runs and not panicking at the speed. Feeling super blessed by these last few days of great wind and swell and foiler stoke.

I'm feeling a lot more controlled on foil on both sides, and getting better at staying low on the mast to minimize sketchy wipe outs. It's still a novelty to be able to steer in directions other than just as far upwind as I can go, so I had fun sailing on beam and broad reaches, and zipping over towards Ang, Jon, and Andrew to give them a whoop. Morning wing was going well, a few dry jibes then I lost focus at the beach coming in and confirmed my foil is very sharp and wing material is not kevlar. Not a huge wound so.should be an easy fix.
Switched to wind foil and after a frustrating start on the 3.7, bagged it out and ripped around with Bobson, Tweezer, Ray, Sharon and Flip Flop who was making everyone else look old with her stamina and stoke.
Great trip! Back in July!

Great start to the sesh .. with Bobson out of town I was able to secure the primo RB parking spot! Started on 5 switched to 4. Tried a few heal side tacks with no success. Dragged some kelp around for awhile. Good crew out including BWD, Bougie and HiRocker.

Arrived to pretty light conditions and contemplated swapping on the 1201 and 60L but waited it out and it picked up. Rigged the 5.5m/39L and was pretty lit for the first hour. Swapped to the 4m and the waves got fun. Carving up the swell at RB just doesn't get old. Grabbed rail for the first time.

Last day at the lake with BigD, his daughter and The Twizzler. Started out with eggs, bacon and hashbrowns, perfect start in the morning sunshine. Packed up a bit then the wind turned on. On the water at Noon in 20kts on the 4.5m Sailworks Flyer. BigD out on his 5.0m Wing and his daughter on the 4.4m windsurfing. Twizz came out a bit later on his 3.5m and Twizz'd it up all over the lake. After 50kms, I came in for a lunchtime sangy and back out to finish my 100km day. Bonus local session in Mill Bay with Frasermc. Crosswind with light swell. More consistent conditions mid-inlet. Adequately powered on the 6.0 and BIG foil. Called it off after an hour expecting doldrums 2 miles out. It kicked up again just after we squared off the gear. Hard to read those inlet winds.

After a nice lunch in the harbour, I got a nice, if short, birthday kite session in before heading home to a nice halibut BBQ. It has been nice day ;-) I turned 59 today and have been kiting for 10 years. I still get a lot of stoke from kiting and I am grateful for every session I can get. I feel healthy and so I hope I can kite for another 10 years. Knock on wood.

Started out a ok for the first ten minutes then went light for a bit, lots of pumping to stay on the foil for the first hour. Came in for some liquid to see Idefix rigging up after hearing my OSR, we headed back out together and had a good hour on the big gear. Nice warm day for a unexpected sesh at the local spot!

Hitched a ride on Bobson's wing stoke and spent some time huffing and pumping in too light wind for my poor technique.
Jumped on the 114 wizard 125Skyscraper and G800 for some semi relaxing windfoil action. New gear is always weird but felt pretty good.
2nd early evening session on the wing was much better and easier with stronger winds. TYATs tips were invaluable.

Late on the water. Wind was slow to build so rigged 5.3 for Sharon and I. Good for a few runs then overpowered. Rigged 4.7 and it was perfect on the 96. Offed the rig to Sharon but she fell asleep on the beach. Nice to see Bobson, twizzler, Big D and Nichole plus a handful of kites. So few of the regular crowd and so many hiker tenter types in the campground. Nice to be back.

Last year the best way to enter on the west side of clover was off the reef. No dice this year- there is a curtain of seaweed that makes getting out very difficult if not impossible with a foil. Spent 10 min trying to drag through it but just ended up totally tangled. Ended up walking down the beach which was much better. Once out, it was amazing. Steady wind, great conditions- classic clover sunset session.

Shot the boys on our final tow session. Feeling rough with a cold. The swell was the best of the trip but it didn't quite fill in as forecast. Still, a bad swell day at Chicama is all time most other places. Winged the afternoon as it was my last chance to do so before the 30 hr trip home. Prize conditions in the bay all day and remarkably quiet for a Saturday. Waves for all and still, complacent with so much choice, I managed to drop in on BWD and ULR more than once. Karma quickly caught up to me with a fast crash. I surfed into my wing, ripping the leech line out of the trailing edge *&!#**!$

Didn't believe it was actually gonna happen after a week of wind already! But forecast of south swell convinced me to go for it. Great redemption session after being chained to my desk all week!! Overhead sets and steady wind. for long beach. First shift in the 5.3 and second shift on 4.7 pretty much planing all the time! Great to see everyone ripping!!

South swell showed up. Some overhead sets every 20 minutes or so with lots of 3-5 footers in between. Not as gusty, could have been on 2.5 for an hour but didn't want to risk any unnecessary trips through the shore pound. Scored uncountable waves and got in unscathed. 6 windsurfers and one other wing, local ripper Max the Dirty Mermaid team rider. Awesome session. Pumping overhead sets now as I log. Waiting for the wind!

Groundhog Day at RB. In a good way! Another 4m session at RB, again, with long, smooth swells that I finally found the bravery to try. Nicely less gusty today and, oddly, fewer boarders on the snowboard swell runs. Getting more and more comfy with riding the swells. These repeated RB swell days have worked wonders for my confidence. Fun sharing the winds with Danno and BWD. My gopro ran out of power so I brought it in for a change, and suddenly, the wind switch toggled to OFF. Jon and others lulled.
