Weird wind direction but.... really the only place we could go out locally. Joined by Windsurfish for a fun session , at times. From almost no wind to 25 knots and some nice jumps. Oh, sunny and very warm, kind of like summer!

Decent session. Up and down at first and then it looked like it was over and I was ready to leave, but then it kicked up at 10. Good session for an hour with some nice swell over the reef. Two decent high loops, but hard to get any stoke sailing alone. Should have made the trip to JR...

yup, fun fun fu-un. Great ramps later on. Highlight for me was sailing away from a back loop (I'm at about 250:2). Sailed 'till I could hardly see the water and Ozy was out another 20 minutes after that. So fun.

NICE!!! Arrived just before it kicked in, sailed 5.5 till OP, then 5.0 till wiped. Love that RRD Dave! Earlier part of session was flat with nice ramp sets outside = big, controlled floaters. Later more chop, less waves ouside, but shore break was developing. Many smiles all around.

Windsurfing in Alberta has redeemed itself. Sweet sesh at Keho Lake, nice gorge style waves and more than enough wind. Hit some huge airs and some memorable wave rides. Also ripped a hole in my thumb, but it was worth it. Finally a session to write home about.

Came out of the Saanich Fire training room at 3 to see the wind was cranking! Headed straight home and on to cook to find the place lit up with the usual suspects + new and old faces. Rigged the 4.5 and it was game on, made my first couple of jibes way overpowered then it was hit and miss after that. Wind was up and down but when it was up it was waaaay up. Had some good swell rides, always improving and some nice lofty jumps. Went over the bars in sub planing conditions only to hear BWD laughing at me ... (more)

Looking at the huge reports coming in from Cook St, I figured it was likely a bit much for my 4.8 :( so I decided to check out Pat Bay. It was fully lit when I arrived but backed off a bit by the time I hit the water. Tried the little board but it was too gusty to float through the holes. The bigger board worked well. Lots of wind but super gusty :? Given the forecasts of the last few days, this was not the epic session I had been hoping for. Oh well, at least I got wet  Sounds like Cook was a clas ... It was nice to see all the windsurfers and kiters at Boundary Bay yesterday. The wind shifted to south-southwest and it was time to Point Roberts to fire. Great surf off the point with 5-6 surfers in and the wind picked up for 4.2-3.7. Sailed until dark in big round sweels. Forwards, shove-its and vulcans. Need a good custom small weedy fin. MFC I think! Mahalo everyone!

Headed down to Kook with Evan to be greeted with solid 4.2 conditions. First 45 minutes or so was fully amped, but the wind got a little flakier after that. Couple of good jumps, 1 lame loop on starboard, hip flexor felt goo ... (more)

Got a couple fun rides off of the point- then wind backed off to 4.7 for the rest of the day. :D Wicked wind at Cook St. today - OP on my 4.0 early on then it let up a bit and was up and down the rest of the afternoon. Had to change sails several times during the session. Pretty fun day with some big rollers to ride and jump and quite a good turnout as well. Rain slashed down at times but was usually short-lived. :)

Well that was worth the wait. The wind was a bit up and down but it steadied out later. Steep ramps near the end and the occasional nice swell to ride on the inside. Great turnout. Winddoc with lots of great fwd and back loops. Kus with lots of good back attempts. Fun session...I sure love my little pink stick 8)

think i should have been on the 4.0, months since i have sailed anyway, scary over powered on the 3.7 when the sun came out, falling on most of my jibes but that got better as i got warmed up, wonderful to see the crew again even Evan, the new guy from ontario on the tiga and gaastra sails, mr windgate too, after 28 years of doing this, i was thinking, i have lost this too, but after talking to the crew decided it was just a really freaky wind..it was like i had forgotten how to sail and that is freaky... : ... Decided to head to the water after our maple tree instantly became devoid of leaves at three o'clock.

Was pretty punchy when we hit the water, but steadied out as time went on. Occasional large rideable lumps rolling through for shredding pleasure.

Close encounter with a bodysurfing stellar sea lion on the outside...cool.

    Apple Imac 24"
After a lot of procrastinating I started out on the 24" Imac. Did a couple of runs up and down the stairs to check latest reports and webcams. Got a couple of jumps, onto the bike for repeated rides to the beach. Got one more run in back to get the van/gear. At this point the wind seems strong enough to rig the 5.4, which I do. But then there is no more wind. So I went inside the house where I sail from or hope to sail from and reminded myself why we don't have cable for a half hour. One more run back ... (more)
