Started blowing 10 kts by 11:30am. Went out on the Formula 175 and the 9.0 for the first two hours, then by 1:30 it was 15 - 20kts, so I rigged the Ezzy 6.9m/Hypersonic. Sailed the next 3 hours flat out in 20 kts going Mach 3. Perfect end to a 6 month sailing season at Nitnat this year. 1st trip started on April 8th, 7th trip ended on Oct 3. Met lots O' new friends and now I can gybe and stay dry. See you all at IV. :D

Could have been August. Wind started shortly after 11:00, strong before noon! Some fog on the coast made it windier than Saturday, and not quite as smooth (though damn good wind). Sandra came up with Nicole for a day trip, so went way upwind with her and kited 'Hornet Bay' with her. Pockets of lift, practiced backrolls. Had one double forward spin. Fantastic "last" day at Nitinat. Fully powered on the 5.8 for 2 hours. Made a few vulcans (most I've completed in a session) and a couple of duck tacks. Amazing what a few weeks off the water and a bit of visualising does for the sailing. Fun to sail with Bobson and John again. Nice fogbank!

Drinking Smirnoff's on the beach as the sun was going down with Pat,Rick,Chris,John,John. Trekked over to the kiter 'fire' that night and chatted with AC, Sharky-Breaky and some others. Nice 'fire' dudes! :D

Wind came up at 2:30, after some nice sunbathing. Sweating it was so hot, absolutely fantastic weather - 25 in Port Alberni! (got skunked on Friday though). On the water with Grant, Kendra and 13 other kiters, once again the smoothest wind imaginable. San had to stay home.

Epic day at the SS :lol: . Glass on the inside sand flats, swell on the outside, play in the mini surf between the two, you choose. Doesn't get any better than today! Tried aerial transitions for the first time.
Yesterday was on the 17m trying a new pulley bar - works great. Love riding in the fixed loop its so relaxing on the arms.

Spent most of my time in the inside as I was powered up on the 5.8, and I am still learning. Was coming in as the wind dropped to 18kn and met Menno who was going out so I rigged the 6.3 and went out again. Menno sailed right over top of a whale that surfaced in front of him. He didn't hit it but it was close. Crazy. Sunny and warm and its almost October, nice.

Wind came up at 2:00, slowly up to about 18 at it's peak, 16 for most of the sunny day. Cold at night before, but made up for it in the daytime. 5 degrees above seasonal norms (or more). San did a crazy spin and hurt her ribs, but had a blast before that.

Another good day, wind came in at 2pm and played with the big board abit then switched to the 142. Learned to rock ride (board still happy), worked on forward roll transition with downward loop. Getting more locked in on 720's both directions.

After spending 9 hours(!) at Camp Rotting-Bear, got to kite from about 3 until 5:30. Perfectly smooth wind, and had a great time on the water with Gerry et al. Fun times for all, and the best wind of the year for sure.

Wind finally came up about 2/2:30. Super smooth and steady. Sailed 7.5 and Adagio way upwind, almost to island. Nice looong reaches between the bays above the river. Almost 50 kmph on downwinder back. Changed to Seatrend with big slalom fin, got an hour before it lightened up, back to Adagio to close out the season at Nitinat. Lots of friends to sail with. Nicely dialled in with the 12 for about an hour then it died off a bit at 2:00. Very comfortable session. Inside is glassy for sweeping buttery turns. SE is a bit up and down but solid feeling wind.
Could've muscled the 17 but why bother. :)

How to tell the season in ending? Everyone's out! 10 kiters at one point (more on the beach). Damn windy, powerful gusts, felt like an October front. Pulled a mostly-accidental kiteloop after my hand got ripped off the bar mid-jump. Adrenaline inducing, but painful! San was way overpowered on the 12m. Wind 6/10, fun 7/10. Adam was ripping!

Powered to overpowered on 7.5 Retro, used the big board cause it had looked light while rigging, but it built. Made about 3/4 jibes (stay dry, not pretty!) and had fun close up with kiters. Made a few small jumps, including an unintentional nose-first landing (didn't fall, but 30 lb of board hard to control in air I guess). 14 kites out and just me. So nice to work out the cobwebs from 11 days no sailing!

Was on my way to work but the wind looked ok. Needed TOW to try a different board. It only lasted 15 minutes but still worth the effort being it was a work-day. The wind picked up again, just as I was leaving. Still made it to work by 8:45 AM.
