Broke free from work around 2pm and got on the water before 3. Kook dealt up some mean chop to start. Then, the church of the smooth swell opened its doors and Kook came thru with a bomber hour of quality swell :D Saw BWD crank a mean looking back loop with a first rate content of hate.

Spring is here :D A great session. It started out choppy and gusty as hell then it sorted itself out. Tried a few backloops, Hoss tacks and heli's. Almost hit the reef a few times. Happy that the Evo planes up quick even in the light stuff.

Nice fun session. A little gusty, but great fun. Good ramps, nice jums, very nice session. I a middle of the session I rigged up 5.5, made just ONE run on it on a way back I couldn't sheet in, that was a pretty good indication to switch back to 4.5. And yeah, the fin is GONZO. I'll take it to a grainer tomorrow, to see what I can do out of it, but something tells me it's not going to be a fin. :?

First valid session of 2005. Also my first entry into the log. I have some catching up to do by the looks of it.

Pretty good day for Esquimalt. Gusty as usual on the inside but pretty solid on the outside. Nice ramps today. Planed out of some nice floaty jumps and nailed more jibes than usual. Lovin' my new board. It fits like a glove :D Unfortunately, the wind got really flukey at about 3pm when Dave (Windaddiction) showed up. Too bad. Would've been nice to have some company. Not really a valid session, but had to log use of the 4.0. Launched in a lull and had to drag out past the beach break, tried a few waterstarts in the gusts and got catapaulted each time. Gotta work on high wind starts without the distraction of drifting towards breaking reefs just downwind. Lots of sailors, one kiter out, went to help another but his kite blew down the beach into the cliff.

Came up a bit later, a dude was just going out at 5:30 in the 9-10 knots that was still around. Great to be on the water with Sandra and Grant and Tam and Ger. Was using the 16m. It is a great kite.

Got to the lake at noon, no wind so we ate lunch and waited. Bobson was the first person on the lake at about 130, and he was schlogging on the big stuff. He looked lonely so I joined him at 2:00 and schlogged for a little less then an hour before the wind came up. The wind filled in nicely for about 45min and then died of quite quickly. Beauty day to be out there and I have a sunburned face to prove it. Completed my first jibe so the trip was well worth it.

Arrived at Ditidaht at 1:15pm, Chris B. was sitting on the beach rigging. I rigged up my new RS3 11.0m and Formula 156. This setup is so sweet!! Up on a plane right away and steady, even pull. WOW!! Sailed from 2 till 3 on the 11.0 and then used the HSM 8.0m for 30 mins still cooking. Changed back to the 11.0 from 3:30 till 4:30pm, then came in as I was super tired from heading up to the island 4 times and back down to the village. Amazing warm and sunny. 10/10 sailing. :D :D :D

Sunny and warm with gusty wind. 75% planing. Hard to stay upwind with wave board and fin. Got lulled every time I thought about trying something. Two PATHETIC vulcan attempts. Felt like summer.

Amazing day! First time at the spit & I was very impressed. Arrived at Comox & was very surprised to be the only one there are as it looked like perfect conditions to me. Wade showed up as I was rigging up & gave me a launch on the 12m. Mistake! It was way too windy for a 12m & did 1/2 hour of survival kiting. Got back to shore & rigged the 9m. Perfect size, even getting overpowered at times. Nice lofty jumps in the surging winds. Ate sh$t hard on a failled kiteloop. Attempted and landed ... (more)

Can't go wrong driving to parksville this season :D Another fantastic day. About an hour of sweet waves made the day memorable. Car pooled up with BWD - Dave scored a free donut "under the rim" at Timmys. Too bad you left the cup in my van 8) I drove extra carefully so BWD's new gear did not get jarred or stressed.

well the combo of bobsons mast, Kus' base and Morewinds boom seemed to do the trick. awesome 5.0 for me once i cranked the downhaul enough. nice 20min break between sessions. crashed 3 forward tries and most of my inside jibes too. outside i was too scared to fall in due to the humongous sea lions. BWD offered me some free sex and i said o yeah, turns out he was just selling his old board, was my face red!
