Now that's more like it. Solo 7am dawn patrol - powered up 5.0 with wet noodle back-up boom. Came down and I headed smiling in thinking it was done, it wasn't. Another hour and the crew started to arrive. Port forwards coming along - one endo ... probably did ten today. Again, thought I was done - headed to Dr.'s appt. Couldn't stay away. Came back for another hour - couple of solid port forwards to easy still in the footstraps waterstarts but my vulcans are pathetic. Fun to sail with Dunk, DWD and Morewind ... (more)

wow pipers is awesome! great sailing in the sun with dunkinguy, mwmike, GWIND 8) ... bean had to leave for a doctor appt.. then came charging right back. it must have been something non-invasive. styled a handful of vulcans today, lst time they were working on the waveboard. the waves were small but i think the tide was running wrong or something. That is a great spot. but i think i learned a lesson - dont pinch too far upwind on the way in or youll be swimming.

Gettin' HOT. The wind fired up late at about 1pm and it looked real solid so I headed out on the Kombat with a 6.0. Had a few rips and then it started to slowly die. 6.4. Then the GO and 8.5. mixing work with pleasure again. woke up in grand forks, drove to cranbrook, worked for a couple hours and while returning to penticton the wind was up in osoyoos. don't leave wind for wind is the saying so i jumped on it there however i wanted to hit it in penticton. wind was gusty but warm fresh water ruled the day. hopefully get a couple more sessions in while i am in the interior.

Nice day today, started on the 10 and once again tried looping, but soon discovered that the little devil has some serious spank in it. Got the hang of it a bit anyways (loopin it) still real close to the ground but getting braver. hmmm should set that 5th line up. Wind dropped and headed out on the 14 and just cruised around havin fun, not really sendin it much just really enjoying carving with the mako, heavy fast downloops and such :twisted:

Spent most time looking for something to jump off - one sloppy port forward ... started to fill in and my ~2yr old carbon boom broke at the head - I was just sailing along but it was starbord (a.k.a CB jump side). Made it in holding the mast. Wind cranked after I left. I've been happier :?

Very nice surf board session at San Pareil. Nailing toeside cutbacks makes kiting your weak direction pretty fun. Did a downwinder in mini surf to Rathtrevor then back up. Wind faded a bit then came up enough for a quick TT session. Piper's is holding but Sister's has died at 11:00 a'm.
Water is nice n warm.

Finally blew all those f$#@ing cobwebs out from last Sept. 10 months without sailing is just wrong. Knew it was going to be windy when I woke up with the tent pressed against my face. After the usual coffee, wander, etc. hit Rowena at 1130. The place was going off when we arrived. I was a full, flattened out 4.7 for over 3 hours before the wind started to get a bit fickle. Came in for lunch then went back out on the 5.2. Love the '06's

Wow what an awsome day, Wind started out light, so thought I would check out the low end on the Mako, and was not dissapointed in the least, was planing up wind prob close to 10knts, very impressed. Wind started to pick up and the day just got better and better. Actually tried a backroll kiteloop, pulled it off sort of, did the backroll pretty much on the water, but brought the sixteen round, down and through and held on, what a cool feeling. Now just got to jump more and send it. WhOOOO Hoooooo

Got on the lake, again by myself, at 10am(ish) and played the pump, pump, pump, plane across the lake, turn, schlog, pump, pump, pump, plane across the lake, turn, schlog....repeat! Did that workout for almost 1.5 hours, then came in derigged the BIG GEAR, watched the sun come out and went out again on the iSonic 105 and Gator 7.0m for another 1.5 hours. BIG! Wow! What a fantastic day. Small gear all day with a 4.5 session for an hour at about 2pm. Smiles everywhere. My arms stretched 3" by the end of the day. AT 8pm there was a very nice remembrance ceremony for Vic Evans on the beach. Some nice words were said, a toast was drunk, ashes were sprinkled, and everyone said a goodbye to our friend. I'm sure it was Vic that sent the big wind for us today. Thanks bud!

Tried the Tushinham today - it was less than smooth in the gusts. Lots of fun - overpowered for much of the time, in both foot straps, but was spilling wind to keep the board under control. Looking forward to getting on the smaller board. Unusually cool on the beach today. Excellent evening around the fire - sharing memories and laughs. Thanks to DWD for the new sail!

Arghh, Could have been such a good day! I was to stubborn and wanted to ride the 72L. Note to self - instead of slogging and getting pissy, take out the 95L! Ended the day well though on the 5.5 and 95L. Even tried some successful chop hoping toady with the 95L and 5.0.

:D 1st time at the Nat this year - no family so lots of free time. Lazy, though - only rigged one sail and switched boards and downhauled a lot when the wind came up. Had some decent jumps and "felt" like Dale Cook - even if I didn't look like him.

:D :D :D - Yes, a Triple Smiler!!! Arrived at 9:30am, on the lake by 10:30am in 15kts sailing formula by myself! It cranked up to 20kts so put away the BIG GEAR and went small(iSonic 105 and 7.0) which was super fun for almost 2 hours when it cranked up again to 25-27kts and I had to sit on the beach for an hour while the rest of the world rigged their 4.5m's. Got back on the water completely lit up doing speed runs and reaching top speed of 48.7km/h and playing jybe practice. Finished off with some more ... (more)
